Y’all know I’ve been bit by the card making bug somethin’ fierce, yes? (And now, apparently, I am also talking like an old time-y prospector, but I digress…)

I’m SO excited to announce that Simon Says Stamp will be selling the CZ Design (hey! That’s me!) line of stamps starting now.

(WARNING: If you don’t like swears, for the love of all things holy, DO NOT look at the stamp set below on the right! Key letters are blurred, but it’s not hard to see what the words are.)

One of the challenges of being a one-woman show is that when you want to offer your product to more people, but you really can’t afford to hire someone to help you do all that back end stuff, it’s hard to figure out how to make it all work. I have really loved making stamps over the past year and now I will have the ability to partner with an amazing company and offer my products to more people, letting me focus on what I love: designing shit.

We’ll be rolling out sets starting now, including my most recent Simple Sentiments and Salty Ladies sets that you can reserve beginning today! I’ll also be adding some of my best sellers to the Simon family, so if you missed any of those, they’ll be coming back. Plus, new stuff will be coming, too!

From the archives, you’ll find what was formerly called my Fave Slab Serif is now called Archie Alphas and Archie Numbers. This new version is slightly smaller than the older version and it will also have matching dies (coming for preorder soon!). That’s the other thing I’m super excited about: dies! Unfortunately, if you own the Fave Slab sets they won’t work with the new dies. Learning a new system for designing stamps means I had to make some size adjustments to my existing line.

I’m really looking forward to this because I literally had no idea what stamping was all about, and now that I have an inkling, my brain feels like it may just explode on a daily basis.

I’m also participating in the affiliate program at Simon Says Stamp, and you can read more about my affiliate program participation on my Disclosure page, if you like that sort of thing.

Thank you so much for YOUR enthusiasm about my stamps and my whole new card making thing. Of course, layouts are still happening, too! Don’t you fret none about that (see, there’s my inner prospector coming out again.)

Making stuff is a good, good thing!

NOTE: If you preordered the stamps from my shop in the past few weeks, they are in production as I type and I will be shipping those to you as soon as they arrive!

Salty Ladies was made for my greeting cards.
Love snarky sentiments. I’ve never been
a sugar-coated type of person so these
stamps will get lots of use in the future.
    Congratulations on a fun, provocative
    set of sentiments.

HI, Glad to see you will be joining SSS, I love them and order from them all thw time. I am a huge card maker and scrapbooker. I am LOVING your style, you ROCK girl, I saw the one stamp set from you on the sss site with the swearing on it and I thought wtf is this ?? Is this a misprint or what? Then I went to your page and to your blog and thought this girl is so unique and cool and different and love someone who is so real and just says what she thinks. I showed my husband the stamp and he laughed so hard and said buy it, buy all her stuff, I like this girl ! I don’t swear, but my husband, adorable and sweet as he is, can’t seem to get thru a sentence without at least 2 or 3 swear words. So anyways I love reading your blog, I think you are funny and real and looking forward to seeing more from you.

    1. #39.1
      Cathy Zielske

Thanks, Tracey. Swearing is not for everyone. 🙂 My husband doesn’t swear a lot. Me? I have spoken like a sailor since middle school. Not sure why, but I do know there are far worse vices.

I just saw someone post on the simon blog that my new stamps are “gross.” So, you know, you cannot please ’em all. And you kind of know what I would say to that privately. 😉

    CathyL

So happy that you have “found” card making. I also started out as a scrapbooker, but have really enjoyed adding card making and stamping to that hobby.

That’s awesome Cathy! I am really enjoying your enjoyment 😉 It makes me want to get back into it. 👍🏻

I heard about your jump into card making from Jennifer McGuire…Welcome. Loving what I am seeing! Congrats on joining with SSS…what an amazing way to jump right in!

    Loly Borda

Honestly, I was shocked at some of the words you used in your stamps because I personally would never use rude words in a card, but all the other sets and especially the alpha are fabulous. TFS

    1. #46.1
      Cathy Zielske

Hey Loly, yes… and I apologize for any offense. None was meant, truly. Those are not for everyone and when I sold those on my site, they came with numerous warnings that if you are not a fan of language, they are not for you. But I appreciate your comment. Most of what I do is not that level, truly. It was a set that was made for me and some of my friends, who do use language pretty much on the daily. I do have lines I draw on my blog. I do swear but keep the f-bombs for my private life. 🙂 I am very much of the mindset, “You do you. I’ll do me.”

    2. #46.2
      Cathy Zielske

Also, I REALLY appreciate the way you commented today. I respect people who state their preference but do so without judgement or mean intent. I read some mean comments on the Simon blog and thought, “There are a more responsible ways to state your point.” So THANK YOU!

Like others, I heard about your transition to card making via Jennifer McGuire on IG and wish you all the best.

Hi Cathy. I am totally new to you and your work but I love you already! After reading your Bio…I can’t help but ask? Are you my twin? LOL… I ‘swears’ a little bit also and here in Canada, us English speakers often say “excuse my French” when we use potty language.
Seriously though, you are better at this stamping thing than you realize, so you may be on to something here. haha
So far what I have seen of your stamps I really like and I could see myself using them often. Cannot wait to see more of them via Simon Says Stamps and will hopefully own a few myself one day. So WELCOME!

Congratulations on your new partnership with Simon Says Stamps. I am pretty new to stamping, but it looks like you are creative, and have a great sense of humor! Thanks for the chance to win!

I’m not a card maker so the whole “greetings” genre of stamps is something I pass on entirely, but I was honestly *delighted* to scroll down your post and see the Salty Ladies set. I truly don’t understand the offense. I’m a Buddhist and “right speech” is one of our main precepts (rules we live by) but I think the Salty Ladies set is funny and genuine and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate seeing something like that in the paper-crafting world. I hope that you continue to put out sets like that, and that other creators and manufacturers follow suit. It’s so refreshing to finally see a new spin on “greetings”- one that feels more authentic and “real-life” than anything I’ve seen in a long while.

      Cathy Zielske

Chel, I appreciate your comment! Honestly, I have never been into cards. Like, ever. But something about making my own cheeky sentiments literally led me to spend a good chunk of time watching other people make cards (hello YouTube) and all the stuff that goes along with it. Also, I’m of the “you do you” mindset these days. For some people, language is offensive. But what I find offensive is when people get all loud about it and judgmental. Opinions can so quickly migrate to judgements. And I always think, just don’t. You do you. All good. 🙂
