Dan is on the phone, using American Express' automated phone system to check some payments on his credit card. I can tell it's an automated system because his "Yes!" and "No!' replies are a bit too animated, and slightly out of character for a typical Dan-style phonecall. I ask, just to confirm what I already know—that it's an automated call—and he says, "yes," and adds that the voice is "kinda hot."
As I go about my business in the kitchen, I hear him say, quietly, into the reciever:
"What are you wearing?"
