10 years and under need not apply

Brandi

Meet Brandi. Our newest temporary tenant. Approximate duration of stay: 14 days. Current age: 13. And who is currently making soft whining noises, and staring at me, and who woke Dan up at 5 a.m. this morning. And who walks really loudly because it's sort of hard for her to walk, so with her little talons hitting the wood, it sounds like someone is playing an offbeat snare drum. Constantly.

Brandi is a good old dog. But she is no Chip.

And so our lives as care providers to senior dogs continues. I don't even know Brandi's owner. He's one of Dan's cafe customers. I wasn't even told how much to feed her at night, or if she has any issues of which I should be aware. So with Brandi, we are winging it. I think, however, she might have been a spaz as a younger dog. Whenever I go to pet her, so starts to go really mental. As mental as a 13-year-old dog can go, that is.

So that's what's going on this week. That, a lot of work, and finishing out the last few weeks of the summer. And the end of summer means only one thing: Neil and Co. will be here soon.

I should start figuring out what I'm going to wear. Ya think it's too early?

I definalty think you need to think about the outfit because if you need to buy something new that could take time.

There is a special place in heaven for people who open their hearts (and their homes!) to the senior citizens of the canine world!

    Hi Cathy,

Saw Crowded House this past weekend with Jen Donnelly. My feet hurt, it was a late show. But I couldn’t help but think about how much fun you’re gonna have.

Think a colour that stands out! I listened to the farewell concert with the commentary on and Neil said that what the audience don’t realise is that from the stage while performing they do see you and notice individual people rather than just see a mass of bodies. Go glam!

It’s NEVER too early to think about what you will wear. I went to the Police show just a few weeks ago, and agonized over the outfit for days!

Hi Cathy, just wanted to let you know, tonight is MY night. Yes, Neil is here tonight, as well as his brother. Although I don’t have incredible seats like you, it doesn’t matter, I will be in his presence, and I can deal with that. I have less than 5 hours to go. Waiting anxiously…

Hey Cath – have you seen the premier of Foo Fighters new song, “The Pretender” yet? Just saw it on TRL – Dave’s hair is longer and greasier than ever! It looks awesome! The song is really good, but they don’t put their personalities into the video much. I think the CD comes out Sept. 26…I heard Dave’s mom goes to all his concerts..how sweet. I know this is off topic, but just wondered if you’d seen it yet, or have you been too Neil-centered these days? Surely, you haven’t forgotten your Grohl Boy?

My golden puppy is 5 months. We like to go to the cities every so often. You wouldn’t like to try the younger set? Just kidding. But we will keep you in mind in about 10. LOL

Sweet Brandi. Poor thing…owner didn’t even leave instructions for care? No wonder she is a little spazy (is that a word?). I know that your family will give her special treatment even if she isn’t Chip. Maybe she needs it more….Cindy

Be kind and give Brandi a chance. She has large shoes to fill with Chip! Once she gets settled and realises she hasn’t been abandoned, she’ll shine through πŸ™‚ You guys are terrific for helping frineds out like this.

So when are you adopting your own? πŸ˜‰

P.S. Start planning NOW, nothing worse than last minute decisions made in haste before a concert. Delirium takes over and all rational apparel decisions go out the window. Take it from a girl who wore and inappropriate mini skirt once. πŸ˜‰

    Brandi is lovely!
It’s no doubt a HUGE adjustment for her to be staying at Senior Dog Hostel.
If you’re looking for a healthy treat for Brandi, try carrot sticks. Sounds like a horse thing, but our dogs have always loved them!
    Good luck with everything!

I meant to post this before with your St. Cloud experience. If you have never been to Crafts Direct in St. Cloud, you must. It is heaven. I live in Alexandria and just get so excited to finally get there for supplies.
