I did it. I finally made a digital layout that I am digging, thanks in large part to Jessica Sprague and the latest CK Kit of the Month. I just got the files to play with last night, and made this layout in like, 10 minutes. Now THAT is some scrap productivity. (click to see it larger.)
The only thing I added was the font (Folio) but all other elements are just one small part of this digital kit. I'm loving the designs of the layouts on this thing. Love it when clever people make clever products! Thank you, Jessica!
In other non-related scrapbooking news, it was a year ago today that I was tooling around New Zealand for last year's Kiwi Scraps event. Me and the entire immediate Zielske clan. But not just the clanโAli and Donna as well. And that was like getting to bring your friends, too.
When we all got home, we wanted to give David and Mary Roberts (our gracious, charming hosts) a little momento of our time together, so we commissioned an illustration from the also gracious, and charming Claudine Hellmuthโsomething that would give them a little piece of us. I took a low res scan of her illustration, and made this layout last September.
I can't tell you how happy it makes me to be depicted in Poppet form!
And my most favorite part? Ali holding toast. And if you ever want to know why, listen to this.
Good times, mates. Indeed!

Your daughter is beautiful. And looks so grown up! I may have to go to the dark side and try some digi layouts!
Sharon says
Wonderful layout of Aidan. She does look so much older and even more beautiful.

Wow–Aidan!!! Gorgeous young woman. Doesn’t it just floor you when a person you helped create turns out so lovely? And grown up–you and Dan must be mighty proud!

I’m digging it too – it’s awesome!! ๐

so fun to see your LOs. I have not ventured into digital yet- but would love to be able to whip out a LO that quickly!! thanks for sharing.

I love your digi layout, Cathy! I am primarily a traditional paper scrapper, but can’t scrap without my computer (titles, journaling, sometimes some self created embellishments)…I keep ‘thinking’ about going all digital. In some ways it would be SO much ‘simpler’…no mess…no running out of the letter ‘e’. Somehow, I just can’t quite convert over…not sure what my issue is! Any advice?
Krista says
Yay, CZ goes digi! Love it, love it, love it. Next thing, you’ll be talking about blending modes and actions and brushes! ๐ Jemaine would say it’s “ix-ilent” (it’s hard to spell that Kiwi accent sometimes).

OMG, i cracked up when i looked at the ad proof by angie. my brother is our graphic designer and we customize 4 pages of a bi-monthly magazine for our clients. i am SO sending him this link….so he can see it’s not JUST me that does this to people. LOL
cathy, thanks for always making me smile when i check in on your blog!
oh, and AMEN about the parties off site! i just hosted a 2 yr old party with 40 guests(mostly family), and i swore afterwards never to do THAT again at home. i’m taking your advice to heart. LOL

Welcome to the dark side, CZ…bwahahahaha! Once you go digi, you never go back! LOL!
BTW, I’m glad your family is safe after the bridge collapse. What a complete tragedy.

I love that you are taller than Ali in poppet form.
Great digi layout! You make me want to try it…almost!

Man, I’m totally jealous of Nicky right now for her front row DMB tix…
Anyhoo, nice to see you in the digiscrappin world! That’s all I’ve ever done thanks to my habit of usually doing a completely different page than the one I originally had in my head, and once I started reading Jessica’s blog I really went at it! ๐ And the kit is totally cute, gonna have to invest in that.
Jen says
Okay, I’ve just gotta ask…what is the font name of the “bits & pieces” in your blog banner? LOVE it and need to have it! Thanks so much!

I can’t believe that it is almost 12 months since you girls were in Oz. Wow how the time has flown.
Loving those layouts.

No surprise that you’re awesome at digi :). Love both LO’s!

Wow! It was a year ago that I met Cathy! My photo with you has been in my ‘to scrap’ pile for a year. If I didn’t have a 5 month old to breastfeed and no income, I would have done the whole conference, so as it was, I took a 1 hour Cathy class. Which was worth it.
But now my baby is bigger and I am working so I’M GOING TO KIWISCRAPS IN NOVEMBER and will meet THE Stacy Julian!!!

I’m going to cry when Aiden goes off to college. :-/

Love the layout! What kind of printer do you use for scrapbooking?
