Viva Niagara

Viva Niagara

Dontclimb

Back home. Safe, somewhat sound. Puffy, but happy to be here and not over that railing.

CKC was a good all-around time. Great classes. Thank you to all of you who chose to spend an hour with me on Friday and Saturday. I haven't been out among the scrapbookers in quite some time. My nervousness was unfounded. That's a good thing.

Falls

And thanks to my sweet co-worker and senior editor Megan, who did a fabulous job teaching and convincing me to come out to Niagara Falls.

Sweetmegan

And also for accompanying me to the Anchor Bar where we decided to order the medium-ly spicy wings. Mmmmm.

And thanks to my little Kodak EasyShare camera for allowing me to bring this little nugget to the masses:

And to Steve, the cab driver who took care of us, even if he was a little pushy.

And to the two women I met at different times at the convention who said variations of the following: "You're smaller than I thought you would be."

And thanks to my parents, for instilling all those great values in me.

And to my friends. You've stood by me through the good times and the bad.

And to that man on the plane, on my first flight yesterday, who gave up his aisle seat so a whole family could sit together, thereby restoring my own faith in the good of mankind.

And to my mail carrier, for delivering my mail each day with thoughtfulness and compassion.

And to each and every single one of you.

I just love Niagra Falls, I’ve been there twice, and its just awesome and a little bit scary like the Hoover Dam, the back end of cruise ships, any high balcony and the Sunshine Skyway Bridge here in Florida. Love Megan’s jacket πŸ™‚

I’ve never been to the falls. Everyone I know has, but no I. πŸ™ so thanks for showing that ‘in person’.
Glad you had a great time. i dont’ know why you’d be nervous, you’re a pro my dear.

I love your new header by the way. I have a couple of old minolta manuals if you’d like them. They don’t work but they are about 20+ years old.

    happy monday!!

Thanks so much for coming to Buffalo – I had a great time in your class on Saturday. You must feel sometimes like a Disney character – everyone wanting your autograph & to take a picture with you! (Yes, I was one of them! Is that cheesy?!) Good scrapbook page idea there – what Disney character would you be?! Anyway, glad you made it up to Niagara Falls, it is awesome, even if the buildings around it don’t really add to the beauty much. When we first saw ‘the Falls’ (as its known round here) my daughter, then 7, made a comment that did indeed make it onto a scrapbook page – unimpressed by the fuss, she declared it to be “just some dumb water.” Did you do the Maid of the Mist boat or the Cave of the Winds? They are both tremendous – if you didn’t, do them next time – but be aware – you get VERY wet! Great to meet you! Sara (from England!)

Please tell me you went on the Maid of the Mist? Or Journey Behind the Falls? It’s totally incredible how close you get to the falls. And I had to laugh at your video, as I have so many photos from those exact spots.

By the way … I’ll never be one with nature. I like to keep a good distance from it at all times.

I was so excited to meet you in Buffalo! My friends have been so sick of hearing me talk about your blog…and now they know why. They too will be reading your blogs from now on. We took three Simple Classes and they all were great. Time goes a little too quickly. Wish classes were a bit longer. The Canadian side of the falls is even more breathtaking than the American side. Well worth the trip across the border. Thanks again!

That was me who said that you really aren’t that “puffy”!
You know you have so much confidence, I wish that I could speak so freely and with much ease as you do, you are not puffy even with the cool new shirt!
Remember that you are great despite the fact that you think your “puffy” cause you really aren’t! It was nice chatting with you in the elevator… πŸ˜‰

The falls are an awesome experience… I had a chance to go when traveing on business in Buffalo. That was a few years ago, before my first digital camera, and before said camera was permanently attached to my hip. I bought one of those throw away cameras, and still love looking at those shots! πŸ™‚

(Hmmm – attached to hip – probably should say, attached to hand? And now with the Rebel, attached to eye?)

And Cathy – you really aren’t puffy. And I don’t know you well enough to lie to you, so take it for what it’s worth! LOL

ROFL…you really are smaller in person! See you can give the WW the big raspberry (with chocolate on top!) I saw you at CK Atlanta a few years ago and I don’t know why, but I had it in my mind that you were 5’10” and thin. Much to my surprise you are a wee mite (but still thin!)

Wow Cathy, Niagara Falls looks absolutely amazing. Will have to put the Falls on my “to see” list. Love reading your blog after meeting you in Wellington, New Zealand. Keep you wicked sense of humour!!
Can you tell me who the artist is in the back ground music, just love it. You might enjoy “Amy Belle”. She’s from Glasgow and has a similar mellow sound. We just love her. And you know…. you look just great the way you are!!

Okay, Tammy L beat me to comment but I soooo was going to say the “thank you to the academy” thing too!! I am feeling the whole mail carrier thing too, I told my UPS man I loved him today when he brought me a nice little package of scrappin’ goodness. Of course, I had to pay for it all, but you can’t beat hand delivery from a hot guy with tan legs in those sexy khaki shorts!!

And yes, Kodak has made it “easy” for me to share many of my vacation nuggets without the worry of endangering the more expensive camera also!! God bless them.

OK – You totally don’t know me, but I love you. You always make me smile (usually laugh out loud!) whenever I get the chance to catch up on your blog. Thanks for always sharing your “everyday” life, which is so normal yet, when you write about it, it is fun & interesting. Thanks for sharing your life & letting us all be a tiny part of it . . . . . . . .
