I know I said I started scrapbooking in 2001, but recently unearthed materials would suggest otherwise

My Mom recently sent me something I made in the 4th grade. Something she's taped up onto one of her kitchen cupboard doors (in three different houses) for over 32 years. She emailed it to me over the weekend and said: "Remember this? Your first scrapbooking extravaganza!"

First%20Scrapbooking

This was definitely pre-Paperkins. I wasn't trying to be all creative or nothin'. I was just calling it as I saw it.

And isn't that what good scrapbooking is really all about?

I think most of us scrapbooked when we were younger. Often it was scraps of newspaper clippings & photos together. Like your find, often it was mixed media art. Isn’t that really what we create now only we have specific product available now?

Hilarious! My grandmother has somehow managed to keep the little creations I made for her when I was a kid and every now and then she presents them back to me. It’s always fun to see how I viewed things when I was young!

Speaking of “Gran Torino”…I bawled like a baby when I saw it. The movie was nothing like I expected. Definitely a must-see movie for everyone.

We may laugh at the crazy scrapbooks we created “back in the day”, but it was still the foundation for where I’m at today!

Is there something deeply psychological going on here? Hmmm?
    What was young Cathy saying?

yuck. Now I remember why I dropped CK over a year ago.

I am definitely going to have to follow your blog. New scrapbooker here, I am sure I will need a little ‘direction’ at some point. πŸ™‚
