Introducing CZ Design at Designer Digitals

October 7, 2009

Introducing CZ Design at Designer Digitals

CZ_LayeredTNo1Sample

I'm super excited (and totally geeked out) to share that I'm going to be working with Designer Digitals designing templates, word art and who knows what else in the coming months. Designing digital templates is something I've been wanting to do for a really long time, but never had the time, the knowledge, or the confidence to just bust a move, and get digi with it.

And now, apparently, I do.

Beginning this weekend, Designer Digitals will be carrying my CZ Design brand of digital products. For now, my focus will be on template design, both for layouts and album projects. You can expect the clean and simple design style that I've embraced from day 1 in scrapdom to be featured in my digital designs.

Each template will be rooted in solid design, including journaling blocks with lots of leading to enhance readability, thoughtful use of space, and even some design or journaling tips tossed into the template itself.

The layout above comes from my first template set, By The Numbers Set 1, (click here for supplies) which goes on sale this Saturday after 6 p.m. EST.

CZ_ByTheNumbersSet1PREV

This set covers ages/numbers 1 through 10. My initial idea was to scrapbook about my kids and their ages, but the amazing design team at Designer D had other ideas.

First off, these 8-1/2 x 11 designs are super easy to convert to 12 x 12 (I provide instructions in the template set). Check out these intepretations that don't involve kid age angle or 8-1/2 x 11 sizes.

This one is by Steph:

Three3

This one celebrates an anniversary, and is by Brittany:

Three_yearsTN

I feel like a mama who has just had a baby, and my babies are now growing up in the form of totally cool digital memory documents. I mean, I would have never thought to do an anniversary page with it. And seeing how Dan and I are coming up on 18  years in a few weeks, it's a good thing that I've also got By The Numbers SET 2:

CZ_ByTheNumbersSet2PREV

(Set 2 gives you the next group of numbers.)

CZ_LayeredTNo1Sample2

(See supply lists here for the layout above).

In the realm of digital scrapbooking, I'm still a relative newbie. True, I've been a digi hybrid girl since the beginning, and I still plan to combine the two forms, mix them and merge them. But I am totally inspired to save and share stories with a little bit of Photoshop on my side.

Look for these template sets and one new single template design this weekend (preview coming later this week!)

And thanks to the creative team at Designer Digitals for making me feel so very welcome, and rocking my templates.

I am absolutely thrilled with your new venture Cathy! Kudos to you!- I dabbled in digital scrapbooking last November, embraced the learning curve and took a couple of online classes. Honestly, I have never looked back. I love the no-mess, no glue, no scissors approach to telling stories. Thanks so much for adding to the wealth of quality products at DD that I choose from every week! πŸ™‚

so very very excited to see you taking this on Cathy! You’ll be a natural, and to think it all started with that first DYL class, didn’t it? You totally loved the way those girls put together those layered templates and spent 20 minutes sitting in front of their computer doing a layout instead of sitting at a desk and physically pulling out all that stash to create a layout . . . you were probably a tad jealous, weren’t you!!?!? haha, it’s okay to admit it!! You are rockin’ the digi thing and I can’t wait to buy a set (or two) and experiment! Between you and Ali E, I may just do more digi very soon!

Can these be hybrid? I’m very basic in PSE, and don’t exactly know how to take digital papers and add them to the template. But, I could drop and drag the photos and then print them out. ? Then put them on paper? I don’t know, what do you think my best bet is Cathy?

Hey Cathy, you rock! You’ve totally made my hump day! Especially the part about 81/2 x 11 templates! I do paper, digi and hybrid scrapbooking. But when I do digi, I prefer the 81/2 x 11 size because of the ease and cost of printing them. So to know that I can get your templates, in my favorite size, at my favorite digi site is just awesome! As I look back at the LO’s I did in DYL last year, I love, love, love them. Wow … thanks!

What makes the difference to me is your rocking design skills and the smaller size which won’t be too hard for me to convert to A4 so I can print them from home on full bleed.

I love your blog and your design style. I haven’t gone totally digi, because I love physical products too much. I have been printing all my pictures for years now, but I’m very frugal with my photo paper and carefully plan the sizes of my pictures to maximize as much paper as possible. I love templates that use a whole sheet of letter size photo paper.

cool! I’ve loved the way you scrapbook since I found you, but I like digi instead of paper. The fact that you have ‘crossed over’ ha ha…(sort of) is just wonderful! Looking forward to shopping and scrapping…hopefully your design skills will rub off & I’ll have pages like yours!
