Best of 2009 from My Blog as Voted by a Panel of Me

December 31, 2009

Best of 2009 from My Blog as Voted by a Panel of Me

It's that time again… the old End of the Year recap of what I, Cathy Zielske, deem to be the best and brightest of my blog posts from our soon to be departing 2009. If you recall last year's list, then surely you know what might be in store for you.

Oh sure, there weren't any Tom Cruise Scrapbooking parodies, but I believe 2009 will go down as yet another year in which I blogged.

Enjoy!

1. Fans of Photosynthesis

1

I kill plants. And I like to talk about it.

2. You…You Are Awesome

My favorite YouTube clip of the year.

3. Aidan Turns 13

13

A little sweet. A lot sentimental. I wish I wrote like this about everything.

4. How Can You Not See That?

Peanutbutter

Pictionary is fun for the whole family, and makes for funny blog posts.

5. Dusting in Hell

Dust

Hell hath no fury like a dusty CD tower (except I wouldn't know because as we come to find out, I actually haven't been to hell…yet.)

6. Chubby Holla!

Whiner

Sometimes, I talk about my puffier regions.

7. This is The Boy

Boy

Kids are so great for giving you stuff to write about.

8. Summer Vacation Recap (and here and here)

Hot

Best. Road. Trip. Ever.

9. Hyperbole 2009

Design Your Life Promo from Cathy Zielske on Vimeo.

Lose a pant size. Seriously.

10. Never Say Never

Hair

Every now and then, you'll find a pretty good non-hair related idea on this here blog.

————————————————————————————————————

And that, blog readers, is my non-scientific list of favorite posts from 2009.

I want to say thank you for reading.

When I first started blogging, which was back in 2005 (even though my archives only go back to 2007, on account of me deciding I didn't want to blog anymore because what was the point really, and then I pulled my blog down) I never imagined that I would have readers, I just wanted to have my own website-looking thingie because Ali had one and man, that was pretty cool, and she didn't even know HTML so that meant I could do one too!

It also meant I could write run-on sentences with regularity.

Thanks for being here with me this year, and Happy Everything to you in 2010.

Peace and Love,

CZSignature

This was my favourite post. I love that the celebrities of my hobby remain down to earth and take the time to read and reply to emails. And that the scrapping community at large rock!

    Happy New Year.

OMG, OMG, I’m seriously dying here laughing SO hard at your Pictionary post. So glad you did this recap (and LOL at your “panel of me”). Gonna have to get some sleep and come back and check out any others I missed.

I love laughing that hard. Thank you dear woman.

Thanks for the recap. I had missed the post with the Awesome clip on it. It was definitely worth the 16 mins. What an amazing reminder of how a simple comment can change someone’s day/life.

May 2010 be as good to you as you are to it! 😉

I have enjoyed your blog more than any other. I presently have 124 in my Reader, but I mostly look at the pretty pictures, I barely read them. You have the pretty pictures, but the WORDS are what keep me coming back for more. I can’t believe it’s been since 2005!! Oh and then that dark silent period when you stopped blogging. Boy did that suck. We all rejoiced when you returned. And the blogging world has never been the same since. You rock Cathy Z. Love your blog and love you. Happy New Year!! xo

Just a little note for you and for your 2009 blog posts: I enjoyed every single one, as I plugged in my computer every morning and headed straight to the shortcut on my desktop that would bring me to your place: the heart and soul of your point of view on every day life. I can say you entertained me a lot with your humour, videos and other youtube pearls. You also made me think about important things or relationships, not to mention that you gave me the opportunity to travel thru North Minnesota (Now I want to do a road trip too). Thank you for writing to us everyday, and for writing it with such style!
Happy New Year to the Zielske family, all the best for you in 2010!

Ma’am, I am sorry. You call yourself a plant killer? That is nothing. I have zero, plants (nil, nada, non, zip, zilch) in my apartment. I have had some over the years, but they are all dead. Including the cactus, and including the ones that belonged to my grandparents that my mom kept alive for decades. Then I took them when my parents moved out of the country, and now they are gone. Gone! (the plants, not my parents). You might hate photosynthesis, but with a mere touch, I can disrupt the process.

That said, you have greatly influenced my scrapbooking style, and for that, I thank you. When I am stuck, I look to your blog, your books, and Simple Scrapbooks Mag, for inspiration. So, Happy 2010 to you.
