I'm still printing, trimming and organizing my Week in the Life album project. I ran out of ink and had to wait for an overnight shipment. (Did you know that HP.com offers free overnight shipping? They do!)
In the meantime, I did a layout last night that I'm going to include at the very end of the week's pages, just to serve as a punctuation mark for the project. I used some of the same digital papers that I have on my project pages.
I almost feel like something's missing this week; like I'm supposed to be taking pictures of myself eating steamed broccoli or something.
Suffice to say, it has re-invigorated my desire to document the everyday with more regularity.
If you haven't done this project yourself, there's no time like the present. Pick a week and go. I can't help but believe this would be one of the most interesting group of pages to look back on in time.
More of my album coming later this week.

That’s very cool that you have your WITL documented… I took pictures {some}, and jotted down notes during the week about what was going on… but haven’t put anything together yet. Guess that’ll happen eventually, after I finish the spring break zoo trip and my DD’s b-day pics from Feb. and etc., etc. 😉

Great lay out Cathy. The project didn’t work out for me that particular week, but I plan to do it in May. I’ll be looking forward to seeing more of your pages

Cathy,
Wow is it really 6am where you are?? I’m thinking you are insanely committed to blogging if it is!! Meanwhile it’s 9:04pm Tuesday in Australia…and I’m only on day 3 of my week in the life and sadly I didn’t take many photos today. I did post a question for you on your blog entry from yesterday…should I repost it here??
I love the above page and I think having a finishing off page is an awesome idea. Can’t wait to see the process you go through when creating your album.
Hope your day is full of smiles and laughter!

I found myself writing something very similar to this yesterday and had the idea of doing some kind of end page for the week (including acknowledgements to Ali for this great, great project and this year’s design) – but somehow hadn’t thought of actually combining the two. Love it, and thanks!

The Week in my life was so much fun to do. I did my own design and having one design (I changed the colors every day to match the photos) made the project easy to do and helped me focus on the photographs and journaling. I, too, plan to do this again and capture another week for the books.

Emily, most of the time, i write blog posts the night before, and then set them to post in the am! I”m usually not out of bed until 7! LOL!

Love your idea, as usual! I also reserve the right to assemble my family around our couch and take a picture that may or may not have occured during my actual “week in the life”. And of course, hello beloved Avenir font! Have a super day. Love the layout, love the idea, love you! – pennyscraps

I can not WAIT to do this…I started my week on Saturday and it has been so fun….my two teenage son’s have both jumped in taking the photo’s too…they might not be what I would take, LOL, but I still plan on using a couple of their photo’s too,
cathy says
Go for it, Penny!

Ok, now I’m totally mad I didn’t buy this template last night. Love how it looks!

I also have felt like something’s missing, not taking pictures of my laundry and groceries. It was a great project. Alas, I won’t be able to scrap it this week, but I don’t want this to fall to the bottom of my to do list, because it really is a special record of completely mundane moments that when added all together make up our lives.
I am floundering a bit in trying to use my limited PSE knowledge to help me make this album more efficiently. I can’t yet translate the designs in my head, and get my computer to do what I want it to do. So, I might have to go about it the old fashioned way.
reyanna says
Oh my! I LOVE this design! One of your best yet, in my opinion. Ack… I’ll have to scraplift this. LOL. Thank you, as always, for the inspiration! 😀
Emily Turkalj says
Cathy, I’m impressed. I didn’t know you could set it up to do that!!

Cathy, love your template. Quick question, can you change the title once it is open in PSE? You have a great template I would like to use for the project, but it says Holiday Memories. Thanks

I really love this layout! I bought it when I bought the week in the life templates 🙂 great idea – I’ll probably do the same!

I am really looking forward to seeing more of how you’ve done this project – and thanks for sharing so much of the how to detail!
