Announcing Move More, Eat Well 2012 at Big Picture Classes

I'm really excited to announce one of my new workshops for next year: Move More, Eat Well 2012 at Big Picture Classes.

I've been working on a way to create a more interactive experience to share this process with blog readers and other like-minded people who want to put a focus on better health and activity for their lives, and I'm happy to say it's all systems go for 2012.

Move More, Eat Well is a year-long workshop, where each month I'll bring you a new classroom complete with a video presentation, prompts and assignments to encourage you in your own efforts to Move More and Eat Well.

I've recorded a short video answering a few questions about the class.

If  you have any questions, please leave me a comment and I'll be sure to answer. The cost of the class is $36. I'm so looking forward to another year of Moving More and Eating Well and creating this new community together.

And don't worry. Perfect adherence is not one of the class requirements! Just as I've done on my blog, this workshop will celebrate the highs, the fun-sized lows, and everything in between.

The plan is to keep it real and sustainable as we strive to Move More and Eat Well.

It ain't just another New Year's Resolution, people. This is something you and I can do.

    This is perfect for me! I am having a baby in February and this will keep me motivated and inspired to lose the baby weight and get back to my fitness goals, plus I need to eat better anyway since I am growing a person!

    Love this! Is there a cutoff date to sign-up? I have been without power from the east coast storm since Saturday and won’t have it until Tuesday. I just happen to live in the hardest hit area & clean-up of trees, power lines, etc. is taking awhile. Thanks Cathy! It’s a great idea.

    Sue, Im sure you could. I mean, you will have things you will be asked to write about, however, there are layered digital PSD files Ive created for my digital scrapbookers to type of some of the prompts.

    But Id hate for you to feel left out of the project itself. We arent using the templates I have been using here on my blog. But again, you could adapt that for your purposes, and then just enjoy the message every month, and the community. : )

    You have until Dec. 31 2012. Literally! That is a year from now. : ) We are leaving the registration open all year because sometimes, people may decide mid year, Okay, NOW is my time! Youve got plenty of time!

    Cathy, may I just say that the entire 5 minutes and 56 seconds of your video made me laugh!! Seriously. I love your freakin’ sense of humor and wish we lived closer. Anywho..I am definitely going to be signing up for this class because like you, I’ve changed my eating and fitness habits these past 2 years…however, I am feeling the need to “reboot” my commitment to myself and “recharge” my fitness and eating goals. I know there are improvements I can make to lose the last bit of weight…and who knows? I might be able to toss you a gold nugget or two about something I’ve learned. *woot woot* ps. I know you always talk about it, but I do hope you’ll be sharing workout music because me and my ipod are besties. πŸ™‚

    WooHoo, I’m in too! And even picked out and ordered my album. Well, that part wasn’t hard. It’s the same one you show in the picture because I’ve been looking for an excuse to get that lime green one! πŸ˜‰ I am having major surgery in 2012, but my goal, unlike I handled my mastectomy, is to be in great shape going into reconstructive surgery and getting back into activity as soon as I can afterwards. This will keep me motivated for that even if I have to miss a little bit of it. And, of course, the eating well part works no matter what else is going on! Thanks Cathy! Can’t wait!!

    Cathy–you spoke to me. I was on my 4th piece of Halloween candy while watching your video. At 46, it’s time to put my health and wellness at the top of the list. I’m tired of complaining about my clothes not fitting and my energy level being so low. Time to do something about it. Move More Eat Well, here I come.

    Yay, Cathy! I’m so excited about this. I do One Little Word and I was thinking about two different words for 2012. “Move” was one of them. But if I take this class, I will be able to focus on this area of my life through the class. So I’m going with the other word… Or maybe something else altogether. πŸ™‚

    I JUST got new sneakers. I’m coming off my 2nd hip replacement (One 11 years ago and now the other 8 weeks ago – it was a congenital thing…) and I am ready to MOVE! Of course, I’m waking up all those muscles that were cut during surgery, so it’s slow-going, but it IS coming along great!

    And, I already LOVE yoga pants! πŸ™‚

    And, AND, I’m totally doing the healthy eating thing, just trying to beat down the sugar monster.

    I’m psyched and I’m on my way over to BPC right now!

    I would love this class and really NEED it! Is there any way to change the size of the album to a smaller one without a big hassle? Will you be using the digital files you all ready use on your blog –I think you said the size can be changed with those? Can I convert 8.5×11 to 8×8 format?

    The files will all be designed to fit an 8.5 x 11 divided page protector. And some of the files will be available in layered digital files, but the class isnt using the templates from my blog. However, you could still use some of the assignment prompts that I ask you to write about and adapt it to your own needs. It would take a little ingenuity, but the base sizes of the actual downloadable elements will fit the 8.5 x 11 album. : ) Hope that helps to answer your question.

    So glad you are doing this class! It sounds like it will be generally similar to One Little Word — monthly prompts, simple album project, inspiration and encouragement. I’m taking OWL now and plan to in 2012 as well. MMEW will be a great companion to it with a more narrow focus on my physical health. I love the monthly level of activity — not too overwhelming of a scrapbooking commitment but keeps me motivated and focused over the whole year. Thanks, Cathy! I’ll sign up come payday next week.

    Last night I was thinking that it clould be fun to finally let this weight go. Today I purchased weight watchers at home pack and was thinking about how I could take a before photo (since we don’t have a full length mirror). Then I clicked on your blog – serendipity or what!!     WOW how awesome is this and awesome YOU!! This is a great idea and would help so many of your fans, including me. Thanks so much Cathy.

    I made a big mistake and tried a 3 Musketeers from the kids stash, first one in my 42 years. Oh my stars they are SOOOO GOOOOOD….should never have done it. Now all I want is the dam candy. Have to go cold turkey quickly on this, just informed my hubby I’ve been secretly eating them all week and he said he will make sure I don’t this weekend.

    So here’s my question. My eating issues have very little to do with losing weight. I’m more likely to skip meals or grab something crappy in a drive-thru or drink too much coffee and not enough water and realize at the end of the day I have no energy or vitality because I’m not eating well. Are you focusing a lot on weight loss, or would I fit in the class, too?

    Jeanne, my hope is to focus on WHOLE living. Its not just about losing weight. It IS going to be about taking care of yourself, and nutrition is a huge part of that. I plan to share some of my experiences on what Ive learned about processed crap and how it kicks my butt and makes me feel blah. I also have some experts lined up to share some info on nutrition as well.

    This is about keeping the machines that are our bodies in the best shape we can.

    I have been doing this for a while now. Im not overweight anymore but im also not some thin pixie either. But im stronger mentally and physically when i take care of myself. Thats really what i hope this class inspires people to do.

    Some people do want to lose weight. I know, because i was that person in 2009 at 185 pounds. But even after the weight is gone, you still have to figure out how to move more and eat well to feel better.

    Would love to have you in the class!

    I’m so glad to hear about your new class (when you had put out feelers for type of class I had suggested this – and am thrilled that you’re putting this together). I’ll definitely be signing up. I am going to wait until I have a few more BPC classes to sign up for (including Stacy’s 4experts Twelve class which isn’t yet open for registration) and will try to use that discount code from Paperclipping Roundtable (PRT) – by the way, it seems to me that it has been quite some time since I’ve heard you on one of those – maybe you’ll be having a guest appearance sometime soon — a topic such as using scrapbooking as means to document progress on goals such as MMEW – hint – hint! Maybe I’ll commit (as part of the MM component) to only watching the MMEW monthly videos (and listening to PRT) while jogging in the spot in front of my computer or after I’ve done a couple of sets of pushup or situps πŸ™‚

    I bet if someone told you four years ago that you would be doing *this* in 2012 you would have laughed them straight out of the room! I am definitely needing some refocus on health and fitness for the next year. I haven’t quite lost my way, but somewhere in the past four months, I gave myself permission to do a half-marathon on this journey, when I had set out to complete all 26 miles. Thank you for expanding the project like this.

    This sounds do awesome! I recently lost 22kga when I was deployed with the
    Military for 4 months. But, I do need more inspirationa nd motivation to keep eating well and not go back to where I was before! Does this class inude your diary type templates for recording food and exercise daily?

    Sarah, you will have written assignments each month, and yes, a card to print each month for documenting weight and numbers associated with the process. But not on a daily basis, however, you could definitely keep a journal while going through the process!

    Hmmm. I suppose you would enter it into an area for gift certificates if there is one. I would expect a contact back by Tuesday (tomorrow is MLK day so BP may not be in the office officially!)
