OBSERVATIONS: Week 42 is on the books, so to speak, and last week was a bit of a blur. Lots of work. Lots of celebrating. Lots of living. Most notably last week, Dan and I celebrated 21 years of marital bliss. And yes, I would like to give a shout out to our therapist, because let's face it, she's a miracle worker. Big up, Ms. M!
Moving right along, here are my pages for the week.
Note: if you didn't read my Crapbooking Mission Statement and get your free downloadable card, by all means, click here.
This week, I used a small envelope page to hold me and Dan's anniversary cards. We eschew gifts on our anniversary in favor of offering each other heartfelt cards. It's a tradition that dates back, well, 21 years. It was a time when the best gifts we could afford were simply words in a card. To this day, I can honestly say it's something we both look forward to and occasionally get a little weepy over. (Weepy in a good way, not in a I really wanted diamonds way.) I added a little Year Card to the pocket to denote the milestone.
Here's the page without the envelope:
Here's the weekly recap:
And that is all I wrote for Week Forty-Two of Project Life. See you back here on Monday where I'm going to share a new album project for November. The theme? What else? Thankfulness.
Have a great weekend.

Love your PL, as always. I love the simplicity of it, something I’ve started to do more with mine in order to keep up. I have a question about the card for the steak house in the pocket beside the pic of you and Dan. Did you make that card, and if so, I would love to know how. Congrats on 21 years!

Hey Cathy,
What do you think of the book, You Shall Not Use Comic Sans? I’ve seen it before and thought about getting it. Would it be useful for a scrapper or is it more for professionals? Thanks!
Cheri says
I so totally would have included that photo of Cole!

RE:The Becky Higgins clear envelope that you put the anniversary cards in; Would they also fit well in an 8 1/2 x 11 album?
Lori says
So excited you are doing the Thankful albums again. They were THE highlight of my Thanksgiving last year, and the start of a wonderful family tradition.

Hi, congrats on 21 years. My husband and I ate at Oceanaire in mpls. last year and spent a lot of cash, but honestly unbelievable food. We decided it was worth it to have an awesome meal out once a year. Better than applebees for 40.00.
cathy says
Helen, do you mean the card with the Ruths Chris Logo? That was a card from the restaurant! I just cut it up for my album. : )
cathy says
I thought the content looked fabulous. I almost bought it just to have it. : )
cathy says
I think so, because the holes are punched the same as for an 8.5 x 11 album. : )
cathy says
Let me double check and get back to you… just to be sure!
cathy says
Yes. Okay, they fit perfectly in an 8.5 x 11 album!

Hey Lora, well its going to be a bit different this year! Check out Designer Digitals this weekend to see the template set description!

I am jealous of the color of the leaves on the trees in your neighborhood. I would love to have that view. I have never lived in a place that had seasons and the changing of the leaves is just so amazing to me.

Always love your PL shares! And because I’m nosy like that, I read your Week in Review cards. I have to say that as a Physical Therapist, AWESOME job with the volunteer gig Aidan!! That will be a great experience. She will learn so much doing this. And congrats on the Anniversary Cathy!

Love seeing your PL posts so inspiring!

Stefani, I love it too! I grew up in Washington state, and we had a lot of evergreens. Not so many of these kinds of trees.
cathy says
Jen, shes very excited about this. She hopes to go into medicine one day. This is her first job in a hospital.
PJ says
Thank you so much for responding. I don’t know how you have time to answer all these questions. 🙂

What a great week to remember. CONRATS TO AIDAN, THAT IS SOOOOO AMAZING!!! Love that about your two cards, how sweet is that. My hubby and I only do cards too, lately we have been a little weepy on them. Too bad about waiting so long for her license, ours is by appt. and only a week/two to wait. LOVE LOVE the fall tree picture, gorgeous. Thanks for sharing another great week with us!!
I love that you do a thankful album, I do my own spin of one too.

I don’t know the back story, but I had a chuckle at your “Thou shall not use Comic Sans” picture. It’s almost, but not as bad IMO, as Papyrus.
cathy says
: ) Amen!
