Video Tutorial: Customizing PNG Journal Cards

Video Tutorial: Customizing PNG Journal Cards

I released a new set of journaling cards over the weekend, and someone emailed me and asked how to add journaling blocks in Photoshop. Today I’m going to show you how to do it, as well as how to set up a document with four journaling cards, each with its own journaling block, that you can use time and again for your hybrid projects like Project Life.

Even though these printable cards are set up to just print and add your hand journaling, I find that when I type my stories in, I have more to say and there are generally fewer typos. (Yes, I make typos every single time I journal by hand.)

Here’s a video walking you through the steps of working with predesigned PNGs using Photoshop Elements 10. Note: to see this video larger and in HD, click on the link below the video. If you have any questions, leave me a comment.

Thanks for the helpful tutorial. I like these journaling cards but wonder if you can change the colors of the cards?

Vickie, not with PNG card files. : )

These are all in one layer, designed more as a printable. Is there a color theme youd like to see? Im always happy to create new sets in colors by request!

Sister, you are the best. I’ve just spent a while on your video section and I’ve learned about 10 things I’m ready to try right this very second.

Thank you for being clear, concise and fun!

Curious as to how you store your digital elements…on your computer or on an external HD? I am pretty new to this. Once I download something digital, do I leave it in the Zip file and access it that way or do I have to unzip it to store it so that I can access it? Yep, I’m a kindergartner when it comes to PS. Thanks~ I’m still just learning about layers so I have a ways to go yet. Keep calm and ask very basic questions…that’s my motto.

I keep everything on my main machine. I have a pretty big hard drive (2TB and 1 TB). Once I unzip, i dont keep the zipped file. : ) My organization is not the greatest, however! But I keep everything in one digital folder (broken into sub folders: papers, templates, cards, elements, brushes and stamps).
