December Daily, Days 3 and 4

IMG_0500

I love this little album already and it's only 4 days old.

Because I am using the December Daily kit from Studio Calico, I have all this product and it's making me actually try some crafty things. I mean, honestly, the last time I used glitter tape was probably, oh, I don't knowโ€ฆlike, never!

And the best part of this project so far has been this:

IMG_0438

We haven't done a Christmas card in about 4 years. And we didn't plan for one this year. That said, who doesn't love a shot of their whole family around the holidays? Even if it is a total Franken-photo.

Exhibit A:

Before 2

You should know that Cole was jumping up and down, trying to photobomb the shot. The fact that I caught him in mid air and in somewhat of a focus? Pure luck.

So when I looked at the shot on the back of the camera, I cracked up. Then I told Aidan, "Hey, take a shot of me!" And that looked like this:

Before1

And then I clipped and feathered and filtered (and did some head replacement for Aidan), and voila, the perfect family photo:

Final

A Christmas miracle you say? Well, so be it.

Here are the rest of the pages:

If you'd like to make a little 6 x 4, four-photo collage, you can use this little template. Just drop your photos in, print on a piece of 4 x 6 photo paper, trim and adhere.

What a fun little project.

Now if you'll excuse me, I plan to go put glitter tape on everything henceforth.

Oh Cathy!!! My Day three has a photo collage and it was just missing something… I think this template is just what I needed – and I can put some snazzy stuff around it. I love the small pages, but it’s a little challenging to make it look special…

    Thanks so much!

I love it! I love how you tilted the photo on the page. I love that you commented about photoshop help because, personally, sometimes i wonder when we change the photos and don’t say how true to the story it is. That’s just me. I don’t mean changing color etc, but adding a person, etc.

I am totally NOT a glitter girl … yet … I picked up some of that glitter tape from Peachy Cheap on a whim. When it arrived I thought, well, I’ll never use this. But, yesterday I actually got it out while wrapping Christmas presents and I totally LOVE it. When I have little gifts that are hard to wrap, I like to use brown paper lunch sacks. I usually put a Christmas stamp on them to dress them up. Then I fold down the top, and I usually punch two holes and thread some ribbon thru the holes to tie. But I was lazy yesterday and I just stapled the top. Then I put a piece of glitter tape on each side to cover the staples, love it!

Hi Cathy, thanks so much for that template, and I just love you’re album. So, ok..here is the question from the computer illiterate here again. How do I drop pictures into that template. I do have a MAC (just got it)…do I need to have photoshop elements to drop in the pictures?
Thanks for any help you or anyone else can give me..

Oh, Cathy! I had to LOL about the Photoshop pic ๐Ÿ™‚ A couple of summers ago, my nephew got married. My dh was the ONLY ONE who did not show up. He was not there for the official family photo ๐Ÿ™ My mom wanted to use the picture for her 2011 Christmas card, but she was sad that Steve was not included. So I found a head shot of him, put him in a copy of my bil’s suit and Photoshopped him into the group. Voila! A complete family at the wedding–I’ve got a photo to prove it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ok, I have to be stupid and ask a stupid question. I have the template open in Photoshop Elements. I opened a picture in Photoshop Elements. How do I drop the photo into the template? I try to drag and drop but the pic just covers the entire template.
    (sorry…told you….stupid)

    thanks!!

Youll have to size your photo down. Its just coming into the template large. You need to reduce your view (window view, i think!) so you can see the full outline of the photo, then grab a corner handle and drag in to size down! : )

    Hope this helps.
