You think it's hard to take nice pictures of your kids? Try husbands.

February 6, 2013

You think it's hard to take nice pictures of your kids? Try husbands.

Dan has recently decided to add some facial hair to his look. Granted, he can do this in about three to four hours, such is the growth rate of said facial hair, but I always think he looks so handsome with a little scruff. (Until he goes overboard and does something like this.)

I asked him if I could take a nice photo of him in his handsome beardedness. He said yes.

And it pretty much went downhill from there.

"Sit facing the window."

IMG_2424

"No, sit back a little please."

IMG_2426

"Okay, sit back up."

IMG_2427

"Now turn and face me, and look up a little."

IMG_2431

"Bring your chin down a little."

IMG_2436

"Okay, that's not what I meant at all. Look here."

IMG_2438

(Then He Who Will Not Be Photographed joined in.)

IMG_2446

IMG_2442

Then I started to get a bit testy. "LOOK HERE and HOLD STILL!"

IMG_2448

"Can you just relax your face and try to look handsome?"

IMG_2451

In the end, I had to settle for the Double Fisted Chin Rest.

IMG_2455

You can't say I didn't try.

It really is a nice beard.

Love the beard too. My husband has shaved off his scruffiness once in the 15 years we’ve been together and I think its safe to say he will never to do it again.

This is great…life with men is never dull. My dear husband grows a full on beard every Fall and during the Winter it gets to be, shall we say, a vying contender in the World Beard Championships (http://www.worldbeardchampionships.com/)…so last night he totally surprises me and trims it waaaaay down (which I love!)…but he complains about the ever-increasing amounts of gray. I just call him “distinguished”. Dan is looking rather “distinguished” I’d say!.

Ah, yes… have the opportunity for MANY OUT-TAKES here, too. πŸ™‚ If I ask for a picture of the husband, I get a deer-in-the-headlights (scared) look or he’ll scrunch up his face, giving me an overly toothy smile that often ends in me asking “When IS the last time you brushed your teeth. Eeeew! Gross.” BTW, can’t believe Cole was offended by the BLUR. I thought THAT was a nice touch. I like your final Dan outcome. πŸ™‚

Very very funny. My hubby is cute too with a little scruff. But he to likes to play up if I get the camera out – no handsome lovely shots, got to pull the face or do a dorky grin. I just keep taking the photos so that one day I’ll actually capture a the other side of him. Main thing is they are all him. Yes Dan you look good with a bit of a beard! Thanks for the post.

Is it ok to ask, seeing as you mentioned about the quick growing nature of Dan’s beard if he has (or can recommend) anything to stop ingrown hairs? (hubby’s worst nightmare). I know this is going too far in blog commenting but I think I learn more on blogs than I did at school!
