Trying to buckle down and start brainstorming for a new class I want to teach in 2015. Hint: it involves scrapbooking.
Planning to join in the Whole Life Challenge with a few of my friends. I’ve never done this so it should be interesting. It certainly can’t hurt.
Savoring some cooler days as Fall is beginning to show up here in Minnesota.
Loving the new live Cloud Cult album. I just saw this band live at the Minnesota State Fair and it was the most moving set I’ve seen in years. I cried through the whole damned thing. Here’s a track from it.
In fact, if you like that, watch this. I swear, this band is just in touch with something very real and very honest.
Feeling emotional every time I hear this lyric from the song:
Life is a playground
But it takes a lot of work
So you’d better learn to love or it will tear you apart
‘Cause in the end we are measured by the size of our hearts
So we can’t do this alone
So…what are you doing?

A new class in 2015?! Woot woot!

Isn’t that new Cloud Cult album amazing? I only wish they were coming to my state on this current tour.
Cathy Zielske says
Yes! Having just seen them do an abbreviated set as part of a multi band line up, I would LOVE to see them the next time they play here. Which they should! They live here. 🙂

I hadn’t heard of the Whole Life Challenge. Sounds interesting, I’ll wait for your report!

I have been looking for new music, so your timing is impeccable. Hadn’t heard of this band but your links make me think I need to listen to them. Thanks!
Cathy Zielske says
Amy, I would recommend their Love album (their last full length album) and Light Chasers, the one before that. Amazing. They are my current favorite band.
Kendra B says
I hope you blog about the Whole Life Challenge. I’m intrigued 🙂

Right now I am enjoying the company of my mom and dad who flew into town to be with me as I prepare for a major surgery tomorrow. And I’m trying not to worry. But I’m dreading the recovery, even though experience tells me it’s pat of the process.
Cathy Zielske says
Oh no! Wishing you a speedy recovery. 🙂
Courtney says
You should make a group for the Whole Life Challenge!
Cathy Zielske says
I have two friends who formed one, plus I’m in a small group of students from the Move More, Eat Well class. 🙂

Wondering – how did I miss them at the State Fair??
Cleaning – way behind on all my cleaning and need a repair man to come on Tuesday – need room for him to get into the laundry room
Remembering – oh shoot – I’m supposed to be on-line working because I have to talk to someone in Australia and Singapore – crud!
Thanking Cathy for inspiring blogs! I look forward to reading your blog daily!

I, too, am interested in what you think about WLC once you’ve been into it a bit. Share!
Stephanie Howell says
Glad you are doing the challenge, proud of you. 🙂
I did a blog post today with my intentions/goals/and fears. you will do great!
Julie says
I have been very interested in the Whole Life Challenge but the whole thought of joining a team of complete strangers intimidates me. Does anyone know of a group of scrapbookers or crafters that have formed a team that we could join?
Cathy Zielske says
You could always start your own and just invite your scrapbooking friends!
KathyT says
Wowza! Thanks so much for the Whole Life Challenge info. It’s the kick-start I need to get back on track. More importantly, to get the hubby working on life changes too.
I’d be happy to start a team with anyone from here – the rules say you can be on 2 teams. The more the merrier!! Anyone have creative name ideas?
As always Cathy, love the blog!
Julie says
Hey Kathy, Did you receive any interest in forming a scrapping team? I would love to join. I plan on signing up for the WLC later this afternoon. I assume it is easy to figure out how to join/start a team?
Who else wants in on the “fun”?
Cathy Zielske says
I hadn’t heard from anyone other than what Kathy T posted above. 🙂 I’m in a team with a handful of students from Move More, Eat Well. I’m sure you could join us there. And in another team with two close friends. Hope that helps!
Roelina says
My husband and I have started a team called Team Foxing Awesome if anyone wants to join. We don’t know anyone else doing the challenge and we’re not sure how well we’ll keep each other accountable if it’s just the two of us:)

This has nothing to do with this blog post, but I still want to pass it on to you. Go to designsponge.com and look at the topic—dealing with negativity on line! Could it be more timely?

OMG CATHY. I saw Cloud Cult in February and it was a darn near spiritual experience. I wish they’d come back to Chicago-ish – I probably listen to them every other day at least. And for my birthday my wonderful boyfriend got me a pendant of a painting made by Connie, one of their live painters and the lead singer’s wife…it’s awesome.
I’m not surprised you like them!
Cathy Zielske says
Holy CRAP! Her art is amazing. So cool. So so cool.
Janet O says
And more gushing – listen to the album Feel Good Ghosts. A bit older but good. “Hurricane and Fire Survival Guide” is my favorite.
Also, I’m willing to bet you had a good cry when you listened to “You Were Born.” lol
