Fast on the heels of making my pages for August, I decided to knock out September’s entry into my digital Project Life album. I took just over 500 photos in September, but most of them were promotional and product images for my 30 Days of Thankful eCourse. That happens a lot when I’m working on either a new layout to share on my blog or class related stuff: lots of my photos are of those projects. I actually need to go through my iPhoto library and deleted quite possibly thousands of images that fall under those categories. Some day it’ll happen.
I kept September’s pages short and sweet. Here they are:
I really love the choice I made to do black and white only on the first page of each month. It creates a visual harmony from month to month. Plus, when I’m taking lots of iPhone photos, sometimes my colors aren’t perfect. Black and white takes that issue out of the mix.
Of course, Aidan leaving for college dominates this month’s pages. It would figure, right?
But Cole makes it into the mix as well. It’s tricky, but I find my times to snap a shot here and there.
The Aidans both were home one night for an ultimate tournament which was great to hang out with our two families. Then it was back to college life for them.
And that is a wrap for September.

I’m enjoying your PL posts. I had every intention of doing it digital this year but, alas, that didn’t pan out. In fact, PL was put on the back burner for 2015.

So love your pages! They are truly inspirational. I remember buying your ‘Clean & Simple Scrapbooking’ book years ago … and I was hooked. I wish I could put pages together like you do, though … they are exactly what you say – clean, simple lines but oh so beautiful. i love how you mix the B&W with colour. I haven’t managed to create that kind of magic (yet-I hope!)
I just had my PL2014 photo book printed (in the UK) and wondered what size font you use for the small journal cards on your pages? I use your PL minimals pages. Mine have come out a tad too small for my liking (maybe I try to write too many words! …)
Thanks, as always, for your inspiration …

Hey Karen, thanks for your nice words!
The size I’m using for all the journaling is 10 point. Keep in mind, some fonts look bigger at 10 point or smaller depending on what their x-height is. (That’s a term we talk about in Ten Tips for Better Type, my online course.) 🙂

I LOVE YOUR PROJECT LIFE. It’s clean, simple, minimalistic, beautifully designed.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT 🙂 Will you do continue to do it next year? 🙂
Cathy Zielske says
Giada, I think I will. I may even create a class around minimal memory keeping. 🙂
