If you’ve ever taken a class or two with me before, you know I’m a huge fan of a font called Bariol.
Bariol is a versatile, friendly sans serif style with rounded strokes. It can work for titles as easily as it works for journaling. And I was so excited to see the design team that created the font has release a new version of Bariol: Bariol Serif.
You can see the addition of the rounded slabs on the letter forms, which add that on trend feel that so many slab serif fonts convey.
The cool thing about both of these fonts is that you can get both the basic style and the serif style (both in their Regular weights) for free just by Tweeting about them or posting about them to Facebook.
If you really love the entire font family, you can pay whatever you’d like.
The payment is in Euros, but it’s an easy conversion to US dollars and it goes through PayPal. Of course, I own both families.
I am really looking forward to playing with the new Bariol Serif. I hope you download the free type styles and enjoy today!

Excellent! I am totally a serif kinda girl, and love the original Bariol too, so this rocks!

Can you tell us what the difference is between desktop and webfont? Can either be used in Silhouette? Thanks!
