One day done and we are having fun.
I always forget how fun it is to just play with stuff. And make stuff. And then see it and be all, “That is some cuuuuuute stuff!”
Before I tackled my Day One story, I pulled out one of the 12-pocket page protectors and decided to fill it up with stuff. I used some of the December Daily kit wood pieces and filled in with my own little 2 x 2 card creations, all which use various CZ Design Digital products.
Here’s the front:
Here’s the back:
And if you’d like to know how to make your own squares in Photoshop, here is a tutorial to show you how to create a whole mess of 2 x 2 inch printable squares for your own mini pockets (or really, any pockets, as this tutorial applies to all sizes of cards.)
Now for the Day One entry. I decided to use a story from the weekend, as my girl was still in town for her Thanksgiving break.
And no, you’re eyes are not deceiving you, it’s true. I MINC’ED it up, people!
That’s right. I am now the proud owner of a Minc mini.
I’ve been wanting one for a while and when I realized that I was going to use a gold album for this year’s project, I figured now was as good a time as any.
My plan for now is to create day cards similar to the ones I made last year and I’ll foil them all with gold.
I have a laser printer and so far, the quality and the gold coverage is excellent. Sure, I can occasionally see a little speck of black peek through, but maybe I need to try a hotter setting on the Minc. For now, it’s all systems go!
So that’s my Day One. I am going to be telling at least one more story for today from the end of November. Sometimes you just gotta play with the timeline and make it work.
Note: I’m hoping to upload a free striped numbers card file for any reader who wants to play! Look for that file coming tomorrow.

Love the little squares – that makes a colorful and joyful start to the month and the documenting thereof. I haven’t committed to a December Daily journal yet, but am toying with the idea. Whether I do it or not, I’m going to scraplift your idea. Thanks!

I just love to watch your tutorials. I’m proud to say that you’ve taught me everything about digital scrapbooking, when I first discovered this wonderful world early 2014. I just watched today for the joy and for “hyggens skyld” ~ for the cosiness of it.

If you get a chance you should go to the St. Olaf Christmas Festival this weekend. It would be a great addition to your book. It is AH-mazing and I understand the dinner is very good too. Go online for tickets. I hope they are not sold out. It is a big deal. My sister would take my mom when my niece was going there. They always said wonderful things about it.

I know. I have another holiday event this weekend, so I won’t be able to make it but my girl said she’s taking it all in (and taking photos!)

I just wanted to thank you for your PS tutorials!!! I’m learning so much and poking my eyes out less and less 😉
I just bought the Minc a few days ago and am in love!!! Foiling everything I can find. I bought the full size but can see why the mini would be so quick and handy. You have a gift as a teacher!!

Thank you, Kristine!
Part of me wishes I would have gotten the big one now, but I will make gold magic with the mini!

I included a story of taking down a November bulletin board and putting up a December one. Actually had a fall-ish page, but I needed to show transition. And, since it’s been unseasonably warm, it seemed appropriate.
