You could say I am on a bit of a card-making roll. Again, I have not left scrapbooking. I promise. I still pledge my fealty to the Gods of memory keeping, but holy CUTE, I made another card!
Today’s card is completely inspired by the rainbow-colored work of Laura Bassen. When I first started into this whole card thing a mere few months ago, many of you told me to check her out and I did and I adore her work and also her fun tutorials. She’s a master of color and design and I’m learning SO much from watching her tutorials.
Today I wanted to do two things: make a rainbow card and use some new stamps and a die Oh, and distress inks. I’m still learning and playing with those.
Long story short: it’s really fun stuff, people. And you know I am not historically an inky kind of girl, right?
But I have this out on my dining room/scrap room table and it just makes me happy. Here’s how I did it, and yes, I’m getting better at editing down the times of these videos. This one is about 10 minutes. For a list of my supplies, see the photo thumbnail links below the video.
Here’s to a colorful week!

Love the card, and the video. You are right, this is the embossed resist technique 🙂
I have been browsing Lawn Fawn stamps and dies again this morning – Cathy, you are a bad influence! I cannot buy any more craft stash… I am just adding it to my wishlist/ birthday list! 😉

I thought it might be that, but I am kind of green with the terms. And I apologize for the bad influence. I, too, need to rethink what I’m purchasing… the only benefit? Craft supplies are a write off for my business. 🙂

If I had these two stamp sets, I would totally case this card! The Altenew set is already on my wish list and I will be adding the other one. Great card! Clean and simple rocks!! ??

Good job Cathy. Card making like anything else is a process. You’re having fun with the process. That’s what counts.
