I have two Instagram accounts.
This one (for my personal life stuff).
And this one (for my crafty, scrapbook-y related stuff).
From time to time, I have been known to do a little karaoke on my @czdesign Instagram Story. Stories are fun because you can post silly stuff and then it’s gone in 24 hours. Unless you SAVE IT! I had no idea you could save Insta Stories. Now I do.
Yesterday, I was celebrating the launch of Design Your Life 2.0 by taking karaoke requests. The following video is what resulted. I would say you’re welcome, but honestly, I don’t nail every song, not by a long shot, and one of them goes on WAYYYY too long. But this is what I do in the privacy of my super hot office to celebrate the culmination of a lot of work.
People always scoff when I tell them I’m a bit of an introvert, and this isn’t really helping my case. But keep in mind: I’m all alone, in my my office, un-showered and bra-less, doing this stuff. That alone should at least count for something on the scale of strange, am I right ladies?
And yes, I’m still taking requests, in case you’re wondering.
And in case you needed a reminder, Design Your Life 2.0 is open for registration! Save $5 off the $45 workshop price through July 14th. Registration closes on July 25. Click on the image above for the complete class description.
If you are an alumni of the original Big Picture Classes workshop, I have a special discount for you! Click on the image below to email me with any proof that you took the class and I’ll send you a special link to register today!

Teresa says

knitterpam says
nailed it! that was hilarious. such a variety of songs and genres. I used to know all the words to Little Red Corvette, even the sexual uh-uh-uh’s and squeals Prince sprinkles in all throughout. I loved that you dressed up to some of the parts. You truly crack me up. I can’t believe no one asked for REM’s It’s the End of the World as We Know It. Maybe next time?
Audrey says
The Grunge bands were angry about the lyrics to NKOTB songs! As a 90s boy band fan, I can even admit that they leave a LOT of room for growth. You killed it Cathy, no matter the genre:)
Lisa says
LOVE you made my day. Can’t stop smiling. They better watch out on American idol! Your awesome ?β€οΈ
Birdnscrap says
OMG, you make my day, Cathy.

Would love to her Ice Ice Baby and Safety Dance π
Deborah P says
I second Ice Ice Baby!
Would also love It’s All About that Bass or Shake it Off – I’m laughing just thinking about it. π
RitaQ says
Loved it! But why did I immediately think… is she using a ‘woman’s self-enjoyment tool’ as a fake mike? ? Whoops… no… it might be a mini-fan. (sorry if that was offensive to anyone)
Cathy Zielske says
You and SEVERAL other people made a similar comment. I believe the word one person used was “vibrator with wings”. Dying! That is my mini fan I keep at my desk. #hotflashes
Shari Rohde says
LOVE it Cathy! How about ‘Sugar’ by Maroon 5? : )
Carrie Kelleher says
You are a hoot! You remind me a lot of what goes on in our house. π
Deb says
You go, girl! Was watching this at 12:30 a.m. and the hubs was wondering what the hell I was laughing at. Don’t think he’d understand if I sang along like I wanted to! Love this. Definitely need MORE! You are so awesome! I was just looking at your Instagram and it was like looking at dear old friends–I was there back at the beginning of your scrap career when your amazing kids were small. They sure have grown up beautifully!
Delia says
You make me smile. Go you!
Heather(Heathers Hobbie Haven) says
You crack me up! Made my whole day!
Nancy Y says
Shall I pass your name on to my cousin? Her husband and she are the producers of Rock of Ages, you could sing the Journey songs π
Cathy Zielske says
Lol! I think they would say HARD PASS!
Ingrid Adam says
Loved, loved, loved this!
Claire says
Cathy – you got me into scrapbooking … must be over a decade ago now. I decided back then I was never going to get into heat embossing, card-making or Jennifer McGuire ink pad swatch organising … and guess what … I’m hooked on them all too !
My Cathyoke request … The Feast and the Famine by … well … you know who its by ! And could you do the air guitar riffs too please . Not letting you off lightly π
Cathy Zielske says
The Feast and the Famine? Why am I not connecting to who that is by? Is it because I’m losing brain cells by the day? I’m going to have to look it up!
Claire says
Foo Fighters – tell me you haven’t gone offf the Foo ?!!
Cathy Zielske says
Oh my God, is that their new album? You KNOW I love me some Dave, but I haven’t bought it yet. I know, I’m HORRIBLE.
Claire says
NO – you’re not horrible at all – just busy ! I think it was from their Sonic Highways album. I’ve just paid silly money for some tickets to go see them In September as they’re doing a one off gig here in London … and I’m taking my son – I just love the fact that he’s loves them too . I think he’s worried though that I’ll embarrass the life out of him by singing along … but I reckon that’s a Mum’s job !
