I’m excited to be embarking on my sixth year of doing December Daily. During the month I will show pages in chunks and today I’m starting out with a quick video overview of my first four days. It’s not the greatest video I’ve ever recorded, because the left side is a little out of focus, but this is the first video I’ve made since getting my cast off, so for me that’s reason to celebrate!
So without further ado this little video will show you what I’m working on presently.
I’m going for a green, blue, black, white and silver theme this year, more or less.
All of my supplies that I’m using are linked below. I realize the Ali’s album and set are no longer being sold but there are still some cute things to snag!

DECEMBER DAILY SUPPLIES: Here is a list of the supplies I’m using, and I tried to list them in order that they appear in the video, more or less.

Hi Cathy. Just an idea for your 1 to 25 page with all the small trees in the pockets. I often use see through windows in my albums and to ensure that the embellishment stays in place I cut a piece of clear acetate the same size as the pocket. I then attach the embellishment to the middle of the piece of acetate with a small drop of clear glue before sliding the whole thing into the pocket. Voilà! The embellishment stays in place and appears to be floating in the pocket. Sometimes I will attach a matching embellishment to the back to hide the small dob of glue but sometimes I don’t. Hope this helps and thanks for sharing your album and ideas. Regards Michele

Well that’s a great idea! I could use glossy accents and it would dry completely clear! Thank you!

Hi Cathy,
Thank you so much for the inspiring video. I purchased Ali’s DD kit but I was at a loss of what to do. So I pulled out my silhouette and reintroduced myself to it, and did a few cut files.
But I love the sparkly foil of the minc, does it have to be toner ink? I have a hp printer, do I have to have special ink?
Cathy Zielske says
Hey Kris, so yes, it does have to be toner ink. Ink jet ink won’t work. At least that is my understanding. 🙂

Thanks for the video and glad to see that you are on the mend with your hand, although I’m sure it isn’t happening nearly fast enough. Love your December Daily.
Cathy Zielske says
Thanks Carrie! And yes I need to be patient.

I had a cavity filled on day 4 too! 🙁 LOVE your album so far! Love the colors, the clean and simple designs (see what I did there?!) and the silver! I prefer silver to gold, and the tiny touches everywhere look so nice!

It’s like we are twins!

Does it feel weird to know that there are people out there who you’ve never met and most likely will never meet whose lives are better because of you? That’s me! I’ve loved your style since SS days and have taken several of your online classes. The prompt for this comment is that watching your DD video was validating for me … because I DON’T have a story every day and that’s been a hang up for me with this project. Both of my boys are in college and some days are frankly just work, walking the dog, watching PBS with my husband, maybe a basketball game and then going to bed. While I can “find the joy in the ordinary” it still doesn’t seem to rise to the occasion of creating a daily story! Oh, and the fact that you always make me laugh is awesome as well. Thanks Cathy!
Cathy Zielske says
Well that is kind of you to say! I think the ordinary is the thing we would most miss if it were taken away. 🙂
