Today I’ve got a brand new template for sale at Designer Digitals designed to help you create a cool, graphic announcement on a budget!
Four years ago, I spent, oh… just under $200 (and actually, I think it was more than that once I bought the envelopes!) on printing my daughter’s graduation announcements. True, they were lovely (as you’ll see in today’s video) but right now, I’m looking to be a bit more budget conscious and came up with this idea for Cole’s announcement.
This new template is an A2 card size (4.25 x 5.5) so it’s small enough to fit into any number of the gorgeous colors of envelopes out there today and it won’t take any extra postage.
This template set comes with three layered templates. One design for the front and two photo options for the back. But here’s the thing: the text boxes are not simply a plug your text in and go! They are not force justified. I love type and I think that force justifying creates some really weird and unpolished spacing so today I have a video tutorial showing you exactly how to use these templates for perfect typography results! Enjoy!
PRINTING RESOURCE: I have been using overnightprints.com for a number of years now for my Christmas card designs and other announcements and have been really happy with the quality for the price. I typically use the Postcard option, in the appropriate size and print with no special coatings.
You simply choose the 4.25 x 5.5 design, and upload your finished JPEG files using the completed design option. It’s a pretty easy website to navigate.
You can change the size of the templates, too, but you should do that before you begin to edit the files. The sizes won’t automatically translate proportionately, however, so you would have to do some tweaking.
I say go with the A2 size! It’s a really easy size to work with.
Questions? Comments? Happy to answer any you might have. Here’s to budget friendly options in an often no so budget ready world!
My new Grad Announcement set plus everything else in my collection is on sale now at Designer Digitals! Sale ends on April 27th.

OMG LOVE THIS!!! My youngest is also graduating and momma has been working a ton of overtime lately. I have been super stressed about getting his announcements made. This may be my life saver. Thank you.

These are great. My girl won’t be graduating until 2022, but I’m sure it will sneak up on me!

Oh my heart, it really does!

I always love your photo shop tutorials and thank you for including the quick key options too! It is nice to know I’m not the only one that “fussy cuts” digitally, zooming in and wanting to make sure everything is exact!

Girl, that is the ONLY way to go!

Thank you so much for this! My oldest is graduating this year (insert tears) and was struggling what to do with announcements. We don’t live near family and wanted something nice to send to them but didn’t want to spend a fortune. This is perfect!

Yay! 🙂
