Today’s card project is a study in minimal design aided by a pop of intense color that brings an otherwise simple card to life. As a newish colorer, sometimes I feel overwhelmed at the thought of coloring several images so I decided to focus on one bloom and fill in the card with identical white embossed images.
I’m not an expert with color, but the Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers are the bomb, people. Even using them the way I have in this card (pretty much just as straight up markers as opposed to watercolors), they make for such vibrant images and are really easy to use.
I’m also in love with the Smoke cardstock from Simon Says Stamp. It’s a deep enough gray that any white embossing stands out and when framed with a white card base, it creates a gorgeous neutral base for any card design.
I’ve got a tutorial to share showing you how I made this card. Enjoy! And if you like what you are seeing, please consider subscribing to my YouTube channel.

Oh, Cathy, so fantastic! I love the elegant simplicity. I too, agree, that a large bouquet can be both time-consuming and overwhelming. Now, Please stop twisting my arm….I already had both of those stamp sets in my cart at Simon…..I’m ordering today…Can’t wait any longer. Because I need to get those sets in and CASE this card ASAP!

Love this card. The gray and the pop of pink rocks. I already had the Smoke SSS cardstock and Even More Spring Flowers stamp set on my list, so AI guess it’s time to purchase. S

Your card is beautiful – I love minimalist design. Now I can’t wait to go home and watch the video. Your blog posts like this are making it super hard to stick to my self imposed “I will not buy any new scrappy or crafty stuff in 2018”. I am 3 months and 4 days into that no buying challenge and I am not caving yet! But that wont keep me from coming back and drooling from a distance! BTW – your coloring gets better and better with each card you make!
