It is the holiest of days for memory keepers… yes, it’s (inter) National Scrapbook Day and to celebrate, I made a page and then decided to turn it into a free download so that you may record a Magical Moment of your own! Let’s start with the free download, shall we?
Click on the above image to start your download. The package includes the “magical” word cut file in multiple formats for your electronic cutters, as well as a layered PSD file for Photoshop or Photoshop Elements that you can use however you like to build your own layout. This layout features a 6 x 4 photo at the top, and a smaller cropped image below. If you are a 12 x 12 scrapbooker, you can design the page like me and then mount it onto a background of 12 x 12 paper for a great finished look with lots of open space on the sides.
To use the template as a base for your page, just turn off the layers you don’t need by clicking on the Eyeball Icons in the layers palette. Then you can add your photos, the die cut title, and any embellishments you like! I printed just my journaling and the “MOMENT” subtitle, and then trimmed off about an 1-1/4 inches from each side of the page.
Cut out multiple copies of the title for a cool, stacked dimensional look! This is my favorite thing to do with die cuts for page titles.
This page celebrates a very special moment for my daughter, who, along with her collegiate ultimate team, won their conference championships are are headed to Nationals on May 19-20. And yep, mama and daddy are road tripping to Illinois for it. Wouldn’t miss these amazing young women vie for a national title for anything! (Never heard of ultimate? Check out this video to get an idea of what this amazing sport entails!)
Here is a video showing you how I put together this Magical Moment layout. Enjoy!
Thanks so much for watching and I hope you get to make something fun today to celebrate!

Thanks for the free file, Hope I’ll have time to try it. Thanks for the video too. I really appreciate, that we can see the time you spent to place embellishment.
Cathy Zielske says
Oh, that is probably why I use so few! Lol. Takes me forever to commit!
Lori says
Thanks, perfect timing… we are actually in the car right now to go see Mickey! Bring on the “bubble” and leaving all my cares behind!
Cathy Zielske says
Oh fun! Love Disneyland! (or world!)
Lori says
Disney World. We’ll have about 9 hours in the car today and then just 2-3 hours tomorrow. Nice prep time to watch a few Disney movies we haven’t watched in a while. Of course, we just get to listen. Apparently the government doesn’t like the people in the front seats watching videos when the car is moving…go figure.

What size were the scallop strips?
Did I miss the link to Jen’s page? Couldn’t see it.
Cathy Zielske says
The link to Jen’s blog is under the video. Just click SHOW MORE and you’ll see it. The strips were 11 inches tall and about an inch wide!

Thank you for the template! Yes! Perfect timing for me, too. My son’s collegiate baseball team won their NAIA Conference Tournament yesterday! They are moving on to Regionals. Now I’m off to upload those gazillion photos I took at the tourney in Ozark, MO.
Cathy Zielske says
Yay! Sports are so great!

Thanks for the files & fab video, enjoyed watching & listening to you. I used to scrapbook in my teens ( long time ago, I’m 45) & I did a tiny bit at 21 when I had my first baby but seems I just stopped. So I’m starting to do this again also painting, sketching, cross stitch, knitting & new to the programme card making. How does she have all that time, I hear you ? Well turns out I was born with osteoarthritis in my spine, no one knew, & slowly I’ve lost my mobility, my career, sense of independence, feeling of worth etc so now I’m clawing something back that I can do & feel worth some thing again. So I’m in your hands & willing to have my memory refreshed, bring it on.
