Pretty Pink Posh May Blog Hop: Life is Better Shaker Card

Cathy ZielskeCards144 Comments

Hello friends! Today I’m so happy to be part of the Pretty Pink Posh May Blog hop! There are some darling new stamps and dies and today I’ll be sharing a shaker card using a few of the new sets! If you’ve just arrived here from Lexa’s blog, welcome!

This is only the second shaker card I’ve made and true story: the first one was also featuring a die from Pretty Pink Posh!

As soon as I saw the new Butterfly Friends stamps and coordinating dies, I knew it was a chance to bust out my Copics and get to coloring. You should know I’m a very simple Copic colorer. I have yet to master blending and shading, but I think on these adorable images, simple coloring worked really well.

I decided to combine the butterflies with this charming new sentiment set, Simple Sayings: Life. I absolutely adore all of the handwritten sentiments from Pretty Pink Posh. The script is so charming and readable. In my next life, I will have that handwriting. I stamped the sentiment onto Heat Resistant Acetate, which is something I’ve been wanting to try for a long time!

In the end, it’s just a bright and relatively simple shaker card. Here is a video walking you through my card making process!

I think it’s beautiful. Who doesn’t love a shaker card, right? It’s nice to see some uncomplicated Copic coloring and it looks lovely. I don’t get nuts with my Copics either, simple is better.

I really like this release with its clean lines for coloring and the butterfly set is at the top of my list. I have several butterfly sets, but almost all of them have a lot of detail or a very realistic. I like the fact that this set can be colored as you have done so beautifully.

It’s funny, since you don’t know me from a hole in the ground, but when I saw this video, I thought “I’m so proud of you for making a shaker!” But yes, I, a total stranger who is halfish your age, am proud of you for making your second ever shaker. It sounds kinda patronizing (especailly since I’ve only ever made like 2 shaker cards), but I’m genuinely happy when you’re able to make something new and different. Thanks for sharing with us!
