High school is now part of the Zielske family’s collective past, as Coleman has checked that box off in the To Do list of his life and yes, you know it, I had to scrapbook it.
True story: Cole was kind of done with high school before his senior year even started. He worked really hard during his junior year to get fantastic grades to ensure he’d have choices when it came time to pick a college. But he didn’t love his senior year and this mama can relate. I didn’t love mine either. Part of it had to do with cutting my long hair off after discovering the new wave Seattle scene and people in my home town thought I’d lost my Howard Jones-lovin’ mind. But I digress…
These two photos are a precious few that I have from graduation. I know Cole didn’t want to make a big deal of it, so we relied on the onsite photographer to do his thing (which he does every year for just $20 per family!) Still, this page and this story belongs in Cole’s album.
This page features pretty much everything you might expect to see on any layout of mine: white space, visual triangles of color, linear placement—oh yeah, and a story from the heart.
But one thing I have been loving is using letter die sets to create titles. You just pick your color of cardstock, cut multiple letters, glue them together and voila—you have created custom titles with dimension that resemble chipboard alphas! I used my new Everett Letter die set for this layout and I love it!
Here is the template I used to create the base for this hybrid page:
I recorded a short video showing you how I put this layout together. Enjoy!
See the list below for links to all the supplies I used in today’s layout. If you’d like to improve your scrapbook layout design, my online class, Design Your Life 2.0 is now available as a self-paced workshop!
You’ll create 8 layouts (you choose the size, either 8.5 x 11 or 12 x 12) and I provide the printables, templates, and design inspiration! All of the pages I share in this e-course are hybrid in nature, but digital scrapbookers are welcome to join and study the principles of design! Click here to read the full class description. This is the perfect kickstart for your summer scrapbooking!
