Pretty Pink Posh Autumn Card Projects

Pretty Pink Posh Autumn Card Projects

Hello friends! I’m so happy to be a part of the Pretty Pink Posh blog hop today! If you’re arriving here from the one and only Jennifer McGuire’s blog, I welcome you warmly to my corner of the internet. Fall is actually in the air here in the upper midwest that I call home, and this card is a way to celebrate my love of this favorite season.

Today’s card projects features a few of the latest releases, plus I have a bonus card at the bottom of this post, because I couldn’t stop at just one card. Pretty Pink Posh + fall = adorableness.

I actually created two versions of the card project I’m sharing in my video today, one with a bit more going on, but both feature a simple watercolored background, with the Autumn Wreath stamped on top. Sometimes I lack confidence in my general coloring skills, but still like to use more detailed stamps. Creating a wash of background color and stamping over the painted area was my solution for a pretty quick, clean and simple card.

Here is a video showing you my process:

I also made another card using the brand new Pumpkin Patch Critters, an adorable set featuring critters and pumpkins (and general cuteness!)

I created my own window panel using the Stitched Diamonds die set, and am really loving the way it turned out!

I didn’t film this video, because my Copic coloring sometimes takes me FOREVER to figure out. I’m working on it. (All supplies for this second card are at the very bottom of this post!)

But that little mouse though, am I right? As we say in Minnesota, oh for cute!

BLOG HOP DETAILS:

Oh for cute, indeed! The wreath is lovely in both the simple, and the slightly more chichi way. Also, I love how you and Laura Bassen are starting to mind meld. I can think of many a worse person to be on the same page with! And that second card is adorable. I know you feel like you can’t put together a video because you’re still figuring out copics, but I wouldn’t mind seeing that. It’s nice to see the process of figuring it out, because it helps me figure out how to fix mistakes. So if you ever wanted to do a video of that, I’d totally watch. Thanks for sharing, and have a lovely day!

Wowzer… I cannot even get enough of these beautiful cards. I am very new to watercoloring and what a great idea to play and just get a feel for how the color works out on the paper. Beautiful blend. Your second card sent me straight to PPP for those diamond dies. I am soooooo geometrically inclined. Love.

It may be a bit cooler weather, but we do not yet see The Return of The Sleeve!

I love this because it doesn’t have extra furniture. And it says Autumn, not Fall. And the watercolour instead of inkblending (more within my reach than the other).

Cathy, I can totally appreciate your struggle with colouring with Copics. I am intimidated with them. I wouldn’t mind seeing a video of how you come to decide what colours to use. I’m colouring & blending challenged. (I’m also fussy cutting challenged…) The wreath is my favourite of this release, but, like you, I was thinking I couldn’t possibly colour every little image properly. I am delighted with the alternative you showed. I also like the design you incorporated with the stitched squares in your pumpkin patch critter cards. SO CUTE!
