Did you know it’s Sweata Weatha?

Did you know it’s Sweata Weatha?

Please tell me you’ve seen any of the Bronx Beat skits from Saturday Night Live? Yes? No? My friend (and card making master) Laura Bassen just reminded me of these skits and I have fallen down a rabbit hole of watching them. Maya Rudolph and Amy Poehler? National treasures. That is all.

But there I go… rambling.

Have you seen the new Critter Sweaters stamps and coordinating dies from Simon Says Stamp? They are, in a word or two, for cute! And yes, I have a new video wherein I make the card with the single bear.

A card project like this could be mass produced by cutting a bunch of bears out first, stamping all of one color, then moving on. Heck, if you have two MISTI’s (and yes, I confess, I have the mini and the original), you could really set up an assembly line of stamping these sweaters.

This card also features one of my word/shadow dies, Merry. That little die will be getting a workout this holiday season!

Thanks so much for watching!

    Return of the Sleeve.

I love this. All the colours, and the no sparkly bits, and the wood grain texture and ALL of it. (well, we don’t do thingmas, but apart from that). Since I don’t do Fairisle (colourwork) that stamp set would be the only way I’m knitting such a jumper. I’m good with a cable though.

    Love those colours!

Cathy, if you want to do full on assembly line cards like this I have to recommend the Stamparatus from Stampin’ Up! It has removable plates which can be flipped and so you have 4 surfaces to set up your stamps – and now you can buy more!!! They are fantastic.
Loving your cards, and so jealous of the multi layer sentiment dies. I would love those but I have absolutely zero budget at the moment ? You are fantastic! ?

Hi Cathy, I saw a tip from someone years ago about getting your intricate die cuts out of the die. Run the die through your machine with a fabric softener sheet only. Then when it’s time to cut paper with the die, it will slip right out of the die.

I’m going to have to try that!

It doesn’t “cure it” forever, but it does work! Enjoying your card making journey!
