Celebrate You Blog Hop with Simon Says Stamp!

Cathy ZielskeCards, Tutorials196 Comments

It’s Day 1 of a blog hop at Simon Says Stamp to celebrate our brand new release, aptly named, Celebrate You. Today I’m sharing a really fun die that features a lovely filigree design and includes a space to stamp a greeting.

This card also features the brand new Tiny Words Birthday stamps, a collection of all purpose birthday greetings in a small type stye.

I made two versions and can’t decide which one I prefer. I lean towards all white. It’s just so clean and elegant! Here’s a video tutorial showing you how I created the card projects:

I LIKE BOTH of your cards, Cathy! The key lime IS FUN! But, I too for some reason am drawn to all white also! LOL I’ve found even washi tape & artist tape leave marks on my paper after running it through a die cutting machine. AND I DID notice those little Curly Q’s on your card! SO CUTE! LOL QUITE SMART LOOKING CARDS, I’d say!!! 😉 <3

Such a pretty delicate die & the blending behind it looks wonderful. I usually go for white on white, but I really like the pop of colour of the green cardstock, which also picks up the green in the blended background. Thanks.

I love what you did with the distress oxide ink. I think I like the lime cardstock but that is because it’s one of my favorite colors. Thanks for sharing your ideas.

White on white is always elegant. I have the DelicateFlowers stamp set—and now a die is available (going on my wish list).

This is a beautiful card and looks easy enough for me to make, haha. But, it looks so intricate and delicate that it looks like you spent a lot of time to make.

What a great tip to use the thin strip across the middle so it’s straight. So cleaver.

Loving those “zhoozhing” dies! LOL On my list for purchasing and can’t wait! My fave is the key lime card but they both look fantastic!

Both cards are incredibly charming but if pushed to choose I thing the one mounted on the lime green card might nose a little ahead. love the happy colors.

  16. #67

I’m glad you made both, because I think both are lovely. In many ways, I think “favorite” or “preferred” all depends on the recipient. Some people I know would want some extra bright colors on their birthday card. Others would go for the more streamlined, clean look of the white. Proof there’s room for every style in crafting. Thanks for sharing with us!

LOVE them BOTH … IF I had to choose just one, it would be the elegant white-on-white with the touch of gold, it works wonderfully with the delicate detail of the die 🙂

Very pretty card, Cathy! The new filigree die looks fantastic over the ink-blending you did, and I really appreciate the tip in the video of how to line up the die so that the sentiment area is straight. I will have to use that tip when I work on my own cards. 🙂
