Today I’m happy to announce a new video series I’m starting on the Scrapbook & Cards Today YouTube channel called Clean & Simple with Cathy Zielske. My goal each month is to bring you a card or scrapbook page featuring some fun but do-able techniques, and encourage you to give them a try. My first video features a simple emboss resist combined with watercolor markers, a technique I shared recently on my own channel.
I’ll be sharing my video and a blog post on the SCT blog each month (plus sharing my supply lists here, in case anyone needs to know the details!)
Here’s the video showing you the process! If you don’t want to miss any of my videos for the SCT channel, be sure to hit the gray bell over on YouTube below the video so you’ll be notified every time SCT posts a new video!
Be sure to visit Scrapbook & Cards Today online! You can read our current issue for free and there’s a ton of inspiration that’s only a click away! From past issues of the magazine, to online classes designed to spark your creativity, to kits and upcoming live events, SCT magazine is a great place for creative inspiration!
Thanks for stopping by! Here are all of the supplies I used for my card project.

Such a pretty card! Iβm so excited to see what you do next month. When you do the emboss resist with the water coloring, do you need to wipe the image to clear the color off of the embossing like you do for ink blending over embossed images?
Cathy Zielske says
Hey Sue! Thanks for your comment! I did not! The watercolor almost seems to slide off, butβ¦ it wouldn’t hurt to take a very lightly damp cloth or paper towel and give it a light swipe! I would be careful to not affect the watercolor on the paper. π
