Today I’ve got a few card projects where patterned paper or other cardstock fills in the open space of the die for a fun pop of color and contrast.
I combined a bold patterned paper with a simple Sunflower Frame Die cut and just a touch of ink blending to create this card.
Here is a video showing you how I made the card:
Here are the other cards from the video:
This is a fun way to use up scraps of paper you may have in your stash, especially in small sizes, to create a fun background for any die cut.
On the card above, I went in a more monochromatic direction, but added a little interest by clear embossing an image on the mat behind the die cut.

Love the colors on your cards. They bring a smile to your face. Don’t you love the new SSS flower dies? They’re so pretty and have several on my “wish list”.

Such a great idea. I don’t have that die yet, but I do have a couple recent SSS flower dies I can do that with. Thanks for the inspiration! Always love your designs.

I’m a pastels girl. I love the innocent pink card with the floral paper background in particular but they are all “Cathy clean and simple”! Thanks for the card demo. 🙂
