Today’s STAMPtember® exclusive is a charming stamp set from Mama Elephant.
This set can be purchased as a bundle with the dies, but I didn’t have the dies and so, my fussy cutting odyssey continues! Seriously though, I think fussy cutting is sort of a zen-like, relaxing process and it forces you to slow down a little. Who couldn’t use that?
All of the color comes from my Mjello Mission Gold watercolor palette. I only used Cerulean Blue and one other blue whose name is escaping me here for the background, and I painted the kitties with the Sepia color and added a tiny bit of yellow and green to finish off the image. I flicked on white snow using my Amsterdam Titanium White fluid liquid acrylic ink and after it was dry, I stamped and embossed a few snowflakes from the set. I finished off the card with a few sequins from the new Blue Moon mix from Simon Says Stamp!
This set is really adorable! And you know how the STAMPtember® exclusives go: if you love it, snag it today because once it’s gone, it’s gone for good!
I don’t have a video for you today because when I started out watercoloring, I wasn’t sure if it was going to look good or not! I need to bust out these watercolors more often. They’re really fun to play with!
Great job, Mama Elephant!

Being that I am a “cat mummer”, I love this stamp set. It’s so cute! Thanks for sharing your lovely card with us.
Cathy Zielske says
Thanks, Patricia! I do not own cats, but I ADORE my neighbor’s cats, who always come over to visit!

I love that blue wash background! The subtle variegations add so much visual interest that solid cardstock just can’t achieve. Watercolor intimidates me (it’s so uncontrollable), but effects like your background make me want to try it. The simplicity of the card is also top-notch. I love a good strong focal point!
Cathy Zielske says
It’s totally uncontrollable and I find it to be unrepeatable! lol. That’s why there’s no video. I had no idea if that was going to work.

This is such a cute stamp set( I love cats ) and your card is adorable and has a great background. I think watercolor should always be allowed to dry (before tossing) Lol! because you can’t really tell how it’s going to look until then!
Cathy Zielske says
That is so true!
