Love is in the air (at least I’m pretty sure that’s what I’m smelling these days!) and I wanted to create a simple Valentine’s Day card featuring a few easy techniques and one big-assed Ampersand die.
A little messy watercoloring with Distress Ink gave me the colorful ampersand and a bit of dry embossing using a stencil added subtle detail to the card front. Here is the video showing you how I created this project.
Have you used stencils for dry embossing? It’s such an easy way to get twice the use from any stencil and I adore the subtle tone on tone effect on the cardstock. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Awesome card-perfect for any gender. I think the giant ampersand is pure genius. Thanks for the inspiration!

the large ampersand is a great idea – so many uses. Also, Cathy, not sure if you know of this new community – Simply Cards and Papercraft – but see if you might want to be an ‘influencer’ or teacher. Your creations always rock! Here is the link: https://craftworld.com/influencers
