Simple Ideas for Patterned Paper on Cards (and a new release from Simon Says Stamp)

Simple Ideas for Patterned Paper on Cards (and a new release from Simon Says Stamp)

It’s new release day at Simon Says Stamp and I’m excited to share the new additions to the CZ Design Stamp & Die collection today, but first, we need to talk about patterned paper.

I’ve been hosting a new live series over on my YouTube channel under the banner of 10-Minute Design Chats for Crafty People. One topic that comes up frequently in comments is this: can you talk about how to combine patterned papers on card projects? Today’s card projects and video is me starting to answer that question because the thing I do most frequently when using patterned paper on cards? Keep. It. Simple. First things first, here’s my video sharing a few card projects and my thoughts about how to do just that: keep the patterned paper usage simple!

The second card is also VERY simple. I just picked one small pattern collection and worked in rainbow order. Easy. Peasy. Breezy.

For the complete supply list for the cards, see the links at the bottom of this post. Now onto a full look at the new releases!

First up, a new 6 x 8 stamp set called Happy Days. I wanted to create a set you could use for many different celebrations, or just simply to send happiness to someone you love.

There are coordinating dies for this set, or you can purchase the stamps and dies together as a combo set.

Next up, a series of dies (all images are clickable!)

Chunky LoveYou:

Chunky Happy:

Chunky Flower:

The Chunky flower design shows up in the stamps  and die above, but I also created a fun background cling stamp and stencil.

The stencil can be used in conjunction with the cling to ink blend, or add other crafty mediums over the stamped image.

And last but not least, I have a new set of preprinted sentiment strips, Reverse Happy:

And that’s a look at the new CZ Design products! To see the full Simon Says Stamp Send Happiness release, click on the image below:

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Great cards and such fabulous new dies. I love the chunky flowers, too! Thanks for the lesson on patterned paper. I always learn a little something extra from your videos. I like the non-aerosol spray adhesive. I use the aerosol kind and always step outside to use it. The type you used looks much healthier and more convenient!

Yes! I kind of forgot about it and dug it out and remembered: it’s a great product. Better for the environment, too!

What a fabulous idea for using my hoard of pattern paper. I LOVE your new release. I already ordered the chunky flower, stencil and die. Now I’ve gotta have that Happy die and the Happy Days stamp set. My credit card is groaning.

When you open your shop you should sell your stamps, dies and sentiment strips in digital form for all us digi girls.

Thanks so much for another great video! Do you think it would work to use some crystal glaze to flood the center? Or would the card become to top heavy?

The pattern papers from My Favorite Things could be so versatile to have in my stash. I can see using them in many different ways. They are on my wish list now!
