Today marks the first post where I get to feature a memory keeper who may be new to you, but someone who embodies what I feel CZ Design Digitals is all about. Rather than create a traditional design team, I wanted to invite scrapbookers to come into this space and share their stories and let you meet someone you may not have know before. They will all use some of my products but are not limited to just CZ Designs stuff. I’m excited for you to meet my first guest designer, Marisol Benitez!
FIVE QUESTIONS WITH MARISOL
QUESTION #1: How long have you been scrapbooking, give or take? I started back when my oldest son was 3 years, he is now 25 years old. I remember walking into a local big box store and seeing the pretty paper in the scrapbook aisle for the first time. I am pretty sure I giggled out loud. I bought some patterned paper, decorative scissors and die cuts. I went back every week and bought the same three types of supplies until I built a stash. On a side note, I still have those scissors.
QUESTION #2: What is your preferred page size? I started with 8.5×11 because that is what was available at the time. I have created in almost every size out there. Currently, 6×8 pages are my preferred page size, mostly because the albums are easier to store. For hybrid pages I prefer 8.5×11.
QUESTION #3: What is your favorite subject to scrapbook? Our family vacations are hands down my favorite subject. We love to travel. I get creative with the photos and love coming back home to relive the memories while creating the album.
QUESTION #4: You are a new contestant on Survivor and are allowed to bring THREE scrapbooking supplies to the island (you know, in case you have time to craft!) What supplies do you bring?. My first thought was to bring my laptop because all of my photos are on there and I could create digital layouts using all of Cathy’s templates but then I realized there probably would not be any internet on the island. So, I have to take it back to the old days when all I used was pretty paper, a pen for journaling and glue. Why these supplies? Because at the end of the day it is all you need to document your memories. Everything else is just fluff.
QUESTION #5: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you? I am fluent in Spanish and English. Actually, English is my second language. My family is originally from the island of Puerto Rico. I lived on the island when I was a preschooler but have lived most of my life in the United States.
BONUS QUESTION: What advice would you give to someone who wants to get into scrapbooking but has not yet started? Start with a kit that fits your style. I love working with kits because the supplies are coordinated for you and makes it easier to choose what you are going to use. I spend WAY less time creating a page when I use a kit. There are so many kit clubs out there. Give a few a try then subscribe to the one that best fits your style.
Finally, I asked Marisol to share a favorite photo and why. Here’s the photo and what she said:
This picture of my home means so much to me right now because it is where we are creating all of our memories during the COVID-19 Pandemic. We are home and not going anywhere. We have learned how to work and learn from home, but most importantly we have learned how to appreciate each other’s company and get along in a way like never before.
Thank you so much to Marisol for sharing her perspective and work! Please give her a follow on social media. Here’s where you can find her:

¡Hola Marisela!
Hello Marisela! I too was a fan of Menudo and to this day I say they are the best of the BOY BANDS. I love making cards but haven’t created one in a while. Maybe soon. Thanks for your comment. I hope you have a great weekend.

Cathy, thanks for sharing Marisol with us. Marisol, I love your style. I used your pandemic life page as a guide to create my own. So, thank you both!!!!!
