Today I’m so pleased to have another guest designer on my blog. Meet Jennifer! Here is an amazing page featuring one of my favorite templates.

These time travel pages get me right in the heart! Especially because my baby boy is now 21. Let’s have a few questions and get to know Jennifer!
How long have you been scrapbooking, give or take? In 2009, after my first son was born, I started looking online for digital scrapbooking ideas. I had no idea it was even called “digital scrapbooking” at the time, I just wanted to utilize my design skills (I’m a graphic designer by profession) and make him a baby book. I was blown away by all the products and layouts I found.
What is your preferred page size? Most of my layouts are 12×12 but I’ll do anything. I have 6×12, 8.5×11, and even different sized pocket pages all mixed into my albums. Whatever size is best to tell the story or to use a favorite product, I’ll use. I also like the “interest” that the different sizes add to the albums.
What is your favorite subject to scrapbook? My kids! The book Photo Freedom by Stacy Julian was very inspirational to me. Rather then documenting by timeline and events, it helps me focus on our deeper family story. I will document events (2013-17 Project Life albums are complete and I’m getting organized to catch up) but I really like to tell stories about personalities and relationships. I find using the categories Stacy uses help me do that.
What are your top three ride or die scrapbooking supplies, the things you cannot create without? iPhone camera, Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, and…Cathy Zielske templates! In all seriousness, even as a designer myself, I love templates. Some people may think templates limit creativity, but I think they push me to try new things and often to write more.

Above is a favorite photo from Jennifer. She shares why:
Everyone has been feeling a bit off, a bit isolated, or worse during the Covid-19 pandemic. We miss our friends, we miss going to favorite places, we miss our summer routine. This photo reminds me that we have a lot to be grateful for even with what we are now missing. We’re able to get out of the house and enjoy some of the summer. My uncle lets us use his pool whenever we wish and we have a town beach within walking distance from our home. And my boys have each other.
If you have any questions for Jennifer, please leave them in the comments below! I always encourage my featured designers to use more than just my line of products, and so some of the digital elements in Jennifer’s pages are from other companies.

I’ve got just two new products in the CZ Design Digitals shop today! But I have an eye on my upcoming 30 Days of Thankful project slated for November!
I will be designing more 30 Days of Thankful products and releasing them by month’s end! I have ideas for a new e-course to launch towards the end of October, too! But, the products should be ready by end of month for my Canadian customers who document in October! Stay tuned!

Hi Cathy. Glad to see you have not given up “scrapbooking”—layouts, that is. I like the new template 193, but I was looking for a sample layout. Did you do one?
I am SO looking forward to fall!! We’ve had a little tease, but this weekend back into 90s with high mugginess. Ugh. Thinking about “30 Days” is a good way to think about cool, crisp days and beautiful colors. Of course, the wildflowers here in the Flint Hills are going crazy right now and roads literally lined with sunflowers! We spent my birthday Wednesday driving and taking photos.
