Today’s STAMPtember® exclusive is an adorable set of pocket critters and charming sentiments from Newton’s Nook!
I had so much fun creating this card I’m going to live today on YouTube at Noon Central to host a live cardmaking sessions wherein I remake the card! I’m calling this new live series: Cathy Makes a Card. Can you join me?
If not, no worries! I’ll be on my channel. And even if this set sells out, the tips I’m sharing are all about choosing images to color, fussy cutting, simple ink blending and overall simple design!

Adorable card, unfortunately I was late to your live but will watch the rest later. I did get a Gemini Jr, I had the original Cuttlebug, which is no longer supported, can’t get new plates and other brands don’t fit! I’m keeping it to cut the few large Sizzix dies I have but have been using my new Geminii for a few things. I did watch many of the “hack” videos, purchased a self healing mat that fits the plates and there are no marks left on the die. I purchased a couple of extra plates, have made the DIY plate, which with the cutting mat you only need the magnetic mat, for 3D embossing I use 2 regular plates, no shims. I need to test more with the mat, I did try using an old cutting mat from my electronic die cut machine, it was too thin, I may try layering it up but the self healing Olfa mat works really well, at least in my trials and much cheaper than the self healing mat Jennifer demo’d. I’m thrifty, which is why I mostly don’t purchase dies with stamps, I can fussy cut just fine or can create an outline for the stamp with my computerized die cut machine, pre-cut them out and then stamp the details. Not purchasing the dies allows me to purchase more stamps. Thanks for another awesome video!

Hi, Cathy, You make me laugh 🤣 I was watching one of your YT videos and listened about how you created your own Copic swatches and how does Sandy’s hex chart work. By now you have probably been in contact with her and had a thousand replies. But I can’t help myself. Just pick out the best color for an image you think you want it, then search the hex colors near that one to pick out a lighter shade and a darker shade – presto! Much love to you!!! PS I don’t know what you are saying when you are muttering really low as you color or paint, but it does crack me up!!! And aloha!!!
