It has been forever since I’ve share one of my I Am Into posts, but today, we are roaring back with a beauty-based vengeance. Or something like that!
I am no harbinger of beauty trends, but there are some things I have been loving so today I will share them with you! Shall we begin?
GLOSSIER ULTRALIP

Glossier recently introduced a new product called Ultralip. Described as “The rich moisture of a balm, the sheen of a gloss, and the buildable color of a lip tint, without the hassle of layering multiple products—it’s one tube, one step, one… Glossier Ultralip!”, this is the lip color I have been waiting for all my life! It’s got moisture, wonderful colors and it doesn’t get goopy on the lips. This is the perfect product for my, ahem, older luscious lips! I wear the color Portrait the most, and Lucite is the latest to join my makeup drawer.
I always top mine with a tiny dab of Glossier Lip Gloss in Holographic. It’s not an overstatement to say this has replaced pretty much all of my lip glosses and lip colors.

MEGABABE

I first learned about Megababe when the fantastic collaboration with Olive & June was released. In that set, you got a small Rosy Pits deodorant and after using it, I was hooked.

I loved it so much I bought a large size and am saving my small one for travel (if I ever leave the house for more than a run to Target!) This deodorant smells amazing! And I generally do not like scents at all. However, it’s truly a deodorant and not an antiperspirant, so if you sweat a ton, it might not be for you.
I also ordered the Dust Puff and the Body Dust and am obsessed! The Body Dust has a very light, almost imperceptible lavender scent and is talc free. For a person who likes to remain bra-less while home during the day, this stuff is fabulous for under the boobage, if you catch my drift.

I also picked up some Power Wash and some Thigh Rescue, both are FAN-freaking-tastic! I am not an affiliate for this company, I just love what they are putting out into the market place! You can also find Megababe products at Target and Ulta!
KJAER WEIS CREAM BLUSH + BRUSH

One of the joys of aging is finding that you can actually use makeup products WITH moisture! I stumbled across Kjaer Weis while searching for a foundation/cream blush brush, and I am glad that I did because I think I also found the perfect blush for me!

Their Blossoming Cream Blush is just perfection! I ordered it based on the reviews and it’s the blush I have been looking for. It’s creamy and blends into the skin beautifully. I don’t wear a lot of heavy make up but do like to be gussied up a bit for filming my YouTube videos! I am going to be trying more of their products, having found this one to be so dang superb. Oh yeah, and the brush is fantastic, too!
Here is a pic of me with the blush on AND the Portrait Ultralip color:

This is just a quick iPhone selfie, but I really do LOVE how the blush looks. And the Ultralip? Fugghedaboutit.
L’OCCITANE EN PROVENCE HAND CREAM AND BODY CREAM

I stumbled across L’Occitane (pronounced Lox-ee-tan) when I was picking up some of their fantastic Cuticle Oil. I decided to pick up some Shea Butter Hand Cream and their Shea Butter Hands & Body Extra Gentle Lotion and both are DIVINE! The hand cream is super intense and moisturizing; the other is more of an all-over, light, fast-absorbing lotion. I am in love with the smell of both.
This company is new to me, but I also am using their Imortelle Reset serum (I use it in the morning, every day!) and so far, I feel fresh as a freaking daisy! We have a L’Occitane store (two of them, actually) and I recently went in to pick up a few more things. I love their products and they make me feel French. Trés bien!
OH! And if you get that lotion, investing in their set with the Magic Key ensures you get every drop from your tube! I didn’t order a Magic Key at first and picked one up at their local store.
OLIVE & JUNE

Last but most certainly not least is Olive & June. I love this company and their products so much, it borders on the obsessive. And I am perfectly okay with that!

I wrote a lengthy blog post about this recently and suffice to say, I craft for a living, but nails are my hobby!
I have been an affiliate for Olive & June for a few years now and the love I share with you about this company is no joke! The mani and pedi systems are life changing. YOU can get good at doing this yourself.
And they offer SO much education to teach you how to get there! If you visit their site, click on the Learn tab to get started!
Also, I have a code that will always save you 20% off your first purchase of any mani or pedi system!

And this concludes my list of what I am into for August 2021. Let’s see if it’ll be a year or more before the next installment.
Thanks for stopping by!

Hmmm….need to check out the lip products. A little mascara and some lip color and I am good for everything but a date night.

“boobage”…laughed out loud!
Thanks, needed a good laugh this morning.
In the 8th month of a whole house rebuild after a fire in December of 2020. All got out safe, 12 Scotties and 1 Airedale and 2 humans…electrical fire so all walls had to come down to put in new wire. So much fun! NOT!
In a rental house, and no craft room so I’m over compensating by buying all the things that strike my fancy to work on when we get back home…these new things are great! Keep up the discoveries.

Yes, check it out! It’s the kind of thing that feels very natural. And not goopy! I usually skip mascara these days. Menopause stole my lashes! haha!
Cathy Zielske says
Oh my goodness! SO glad everyone got out safely. And you must be living in dog heaven! how fun to have all those furry loved ones!

Thanks for your information Cathy. I’ve been wondering about some different products lately. Can’t imagine I will ever be good at pedi’s. The eyes and knees aren’t cooperating these days. 😑

Love my Olive & June! I just did a little “foot love” this morning outside. I can’t believe how long the polish lasts on my toenails! I had polished my piddies on July 11 and just now removed the nail polish. They still looked pretty good except that the edges were looking a little worn. No chips though. This included a week vacation in Duluth (MN) and Door County (WI). I even wore sneakers a few days during the entire time span.
That’s kind of funny that the one lip color has the name “Fete”.. I’m going to put some “feet” on my lips. Although it’s probably pronounced differently with the little character over the first “e”. 🙂

What a timely blog post for me! I have never worn a lot of makeup but mascara and lip color are musts. I’ve been searching for new colors that aren’t matte but also don’t look like I’m wearing a quarter inch of glitter gel. I bought a lip gloss at Target or perhaps Walgreens, not realizing it was scented. Ugh! Not for me!
I wholeheartedly agree with you about Olive and June. The cuticles on my thumbs still need work but I’m improving. If you are looking for a new brand of mascara, consider Thrive. I order from them online (especially when sales are happening) as their products aren’t in retail stores. I really like the mascara and occasionally use their eyeliner too. Check out their How We Give page, they are supportive of women’s health and welfare.
I’m off to use my Oh Crap die for the first time. I may have to cut that in every shade of paper I own! 🤣

Oh what fun!! Even though the word “sporadic” fits my makeup use, I enjoy buying products others have recommended.I will have to try the blush and lipstick you’ve mentioned; already an Olive and June fan, thanks to you! My daughter introduced me to Kinder Beauty, a monthly subscription with all natural products, which is now a fave.

I ordered a mani and pedi system from Olive and June and absolutely love it! I was inspired by seeing your lovely nails on your YouTube crafting videos. Thank you for the inspiration!!! 😊😊😊

Oh Cathy you look great. All those wonderful products! Unfortunately I’ve never seen these products here in the UK…. being a young spring chicken of 73, I could certainly benefit from some of those goodies… don’t we all need something to make us feel better after the past 18 months? Take care. Linda xxx

I do get the eyes not cooperating for sure!
Cathy Zielske says
Pedis last so long with Olive & June. Probably because we don’t craft with our feet too! hahah
Cathy Zielske says
Yes, Charlene, check out one of the Ultralips. I stopped using regular lipstick years ago and this stuff feels great on the lips but also fades off nicely, you know? No goopy lines. Good stuff!
I will check that out. My eyelashes are almost non existent these days.
Cathy Zielske says
I might have to check them out!
Cathy Zielske says
Oh that makes me happy. It’s a great system. SO well thought out!
Cathy Zielske says
Amen, we do!
Sherry says
Great product tips, Cathy! At thw top of my shopping list!

Oh my gosh! Good point!! I think the last time I put O&J on my nails, I accidentally bumped a die against the nail and… scrape… UGH.
KimberlyO says
Menopause gave me CURLY hair! I love it!! It’s the hair I always wanted growing up.. and paid lots of $$ for perms. FYI, if you ever DO want eyelashes for a date night, KISS has some really nice false lashes in their Falscara line. It’s not a strip of lashes, just small sections. You use their sticky mascara and then place the lashes under your lashes. I’ve never been successful with lashes going on top of my own. My right eye’s lashes are super curly and my left eye’s lashes are super straight. I curl my left eye’s lashes every day just to match. LOL (I feel like I look like a doll who has an eye stuck shut if I don’t .)
Cathy Zielske says
Yay! It’s good stuff!

I hope you keep doing these – I’ve learned to paint my nails thanks to you and Olive & June, and I love hearing what works for you. This helps me avoid products that while they might look great on the shelf, aren’t great when you wear/use it. I appreciate your enthusiasm and honest reviews. And keeping the underboob from feeling like a swamp — it kind of essential. I’m in the south, lordy, the struggle is real
