Back in 2009, I taught a class called Design Your Life for the old Big Picture Classes. In that class, we covered all manner of design topics and one of them was called Real World Color. The idea was simple: look for things around you to inspire your next crafty color palette.

Today I’m resurrecting that concept and bringing into my cardmaking! Real World Color is all about finding inspiration for color palettes from the things in your life that you see everyday!

When I got the Fall Collection from Olive & June, three of the colors stood out to me and I thought: “I have Oxides in these colors!!!” And so was the start of the card project I’m sharing today:
I hope this inspires you to look around at the things NOT in your crafty space to find ideas for fabulous color combos!

Oh my gosh! This card is spectacular. I love it. The colors and the design blew me away. Also, I agreed with the Eggplant base and it came out so pretty. Simple and elegant. So glad I bought that stamp set when it was offered.

Great inspiration for colors. I am having fun giving myself manicures now after you enabled me 🙂
