Let’s unbox the latest card kit from Simon Says Stamp (and make six cards!)

The August Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp is here and it’s called Retro Wishes. This kit is packed with beautiful products and today I’m sharing my unboxing and card making video. First up, watch the video. Note: there are time stamps in the YouTube description box to help you navigate, if you want to jump to the next card, or come back to one!

Let’s take a closer look at each card, beginning with Card One:

I love the gallery-wall design of this card. When you have patterned paper with little bits like this one, it’s so easy to cut them apart to make a sweet little collage.

For Card Two, I used the Pinwheels Stencil set, an adorable mini stencil that I think has so many possibilities!

I kept my design very simple, but I love how it creates a grounding area for the greeting, and the little ink spatter just adds a fun finishing touch.

For Card Three, I had to try the rainbow from the Retro Wishes Stamp Set.

I felt pretty clever using my T-Square Ruler to line up the base of the rainbow!

For Card Four, I used the Margo Tile Embossing Folder on a piece of the Lovely Blooms patterned paper and this turned out SO cool!

This Pinkfresh paper pad is a very sturdy and can hold a deeply embossed pattern beautifully. That texture is just amazing.

For Card Five, I wanted to try using the White Pigment Ink over a blended background, because it’s such an interesting way to use this type of ink.

I decided to make a simple eclipse style card, cutting out the square from the panel and popping it up just a bit.

And for Card Six, I kept it SO simple but here is an example of how great patterned paper can be for the entire background design.

I love how modern this feels, with that cool pattern and the simple gold embossing.

And there you have it! I think all six cards have a very clean and simple vibe (minus card five, which had a few more steps than the rest!)

I hope this inspires you to check out this kit while supplies last, or… if you want to get this kit delivered to your door each month, consider subscribing today and get the August Card Kit as your first kit:

There is no long-term obligation and you can cancel at any time!
